People have claimed it was anything from an attempted coathanger to a king hit. Watch it again in slow motion, I don't think Stewart knew what he was going to do until he was already in the air and it's pretty evident that he attempted to grab Blair and drag him to the ground. You don't coathanger someone with both arms, you don't king hit someone with both arms outstretched. I don't think Brett could fight his way out of a wet paper bag but he came in to defend his brother which is anything but a grubby act.

Outside that, there is not a single incident that would suggest Brett is a grubby player, yet compare that to countless incidents involving Slater and Smith.

Anyone who bites on a footy field takes king grub status. So you're looking at:

Soward
Morrin
Zillman
Graham

who else?

Any other act is secondary in grubbiness IMO.

Can you quote the paragraph the above is taken from in the "Coathanger/King Hit guide book"?

Sure B.Stewart doesn't have form for grubbiness, and there were plenty of other grubby acts going on in that game, but him flying in from the side like that was a pretty low act regardless. No one else saw the need to do it and it means nothing that he was trying to "defend his brother" who is a big boy, and can (presumably) handle himself.

Hoppa was a pretty big grub in his day.

Not for the finger thing, that was just bizarre.

But I remember he put a massive cheap shot on Keith Galloway (or some other player?) once.

Yep, it was a flying elbow/forearm on Galloway when he was playing for Cronulla. Terry Hill gave Hoppa a big pat on the back after that hit too.

I'm pretty sure you've seen a punch thrown before, you're more than capable of working out why a punch doesn't work when your arm is already outstretched. As for a coathanger, a single viewing of the replay shows how there's no way it wa s acoathanger attempt. He clearly makes a grab for the jersey or shoulders with both hands. You may think that's a low act and that's your opinion that you are entitled to have but it doesn't come close to a) biters or b) repeat grubs like Slater, Smith, Luke, Thurston, etc.

On Hopoate, no doubt he did some grubby things in his career and the finger was one of the worst. However, the hit on Galloway should have set a precedent, he copped 16 weeks from memory. I have no problem with that but late forearms should be a minimum of about 12 weeks. As mentioned earlier in the thread, Slater copped 2 weeks for his late forearm despite 2 previous suspensions that season (so potential loading and carryovers). Prior on Thurston is another that should have been hit with a bigger penalty.

Danny Buderus.

And Jason Nightingale. Headbutted Slater in a game in 2008 and had the audacity to cry like a puppy who'd been hit with a rolled up newspaper when Billy towelled him for his trouble.

haha, f*ckin' Les

:lol: Oh wow, this isn't actually serious, is it?

One of the more deluded recollections I have ever seen. Your little b*tch Slater threw a handful of "punches" at Nightingale as he had his hands held behind his back by one of your other grubs.

Towelled him  Wow.

Jesus Hutty. You bite far too easily when it comes to that night.

Pretty much everyone involved with the Melbourne Storm. They just have an aura of grubiness about them and anyone who plays for them or supports them embraces that mentality and feels obligated to act like a piece of shit.

Dirtiest players and coaching staff in the league.

Classless and least knowledgeable fans in the league.

I think you're getting your souffs and Storm mixed up.

Easy to do though.

souffs are a poor mans Storm.

No, I've got it spot on actually.

At least Souths fans have respect for the games history (I guess they have to but!)

Who is the biggest grub in the NRL?

Nasser Khoder - like a cancer he should be cut from the game and no contract with his name on it - anywhere - should be legally binding in the NRL.
