Of all the actors who have ever played James Bond, who do you think has been the greatest?

Sean Connery - 7 times (Dr No, Goldfinger, Thunderball, Diamonds Are Forever, You Only Live Twice, With Russia From Love, Never Say Never Again)

Roger Moore - 7 times (A View to Kill, Octopussy, Moonraker, Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Man With The Golden gun, For Your Eyes Only)

George Lazenby - Once (On Her Majesty's Secret Service)

Timothy Dalton - Twice (License To Kill, The Living Daylights)

Pierce Brosnan - 4 times (Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day)

Peter Sellers - Once (Although he wasn't an 'official' Bond, I'll still add him in anyway because he did play James Bond and he was a great actor anyway)

Sean Connery was also in Never Say Never Again, an unofficial remake of Thunderball.

Yeah I wasn't sure if I should have added that one in...

May as well though.

I like Moore and Brosnan both but Pierce gets the nod for Goldeneye, which for me is the best bond film ever.

Most of his other films are great too except DAD which I have been unable to watch in full.

I've got to go Brosnan too, but it's close to Connery and Moore.

How's that, a Scotsman, an Australian, an Englishman, a Welshman and an Irishman as the 5 official Bonds. Does that mean Russel Crowe (kiwi) will be the next Bond? Or a Canadian perhaps?

I think we're in the minority, MG, it's 8-3 Connery at this stage.

I'd like to point out here that his "hotness" wasn't the reason I voted for him though.

Connery was the classic Bond. Brosnan deserves a lot of credit though for resurrecting the franchise after the festival of dull that was Timothy Dalton - without that I doubt we'd be talking about who the next Bond would be.

Connery - I don't know how anyone could even consider voting for anyone else

Brosnan is a clear second though - none of the others rate

I'm a massive Bond fan so I'd have to say Connery. He was the best.

Then, I'd go Brosnan and then Moore. Brosnan has done a fantastic job, and whilst Moore was good, he just didn't 'feel' like James Bond.
