I can't belive you put Ivor Lingard in the poll.

Are you serious Colonel, did you ever watch this guy play ?

At least I was joking whan I mentioned Ben Kusto.

Two votes so far for Nathan Hindmarsh, you can only vote once, Halfy.

Twiz,

I am finally glad someone picked me up on that.   I couldn't resist dropping him in!

I know he wasn't much chop but you had your fun with Kusto. However he did play 113 games for the club so he wasn't all that bad.

Ernie Wanka was a forward from Darwin.
Ivor Lingard was signed to replace Leo Toohey in 1963.
The master of the Cumberland throw, along with Fred Pickup/Ray Price.

Sterlo coz he performed consistently week in week out at a high standard. I think he even got a 10 rating from one of the magazines when he played against Easts (I think).

Kenny was brilliant but could not do it week in week out. But when he wanted to play, he was awesome. When Sterlo retired, Kenny tried to take on a GENERAL'S role (playing lock and 5/8 - a bit like scotty hill - he try to develop his kicking game but to no avail) but could not control a game as what Sterlo did.

Grothe - shame he was ravocked with knee problems. However, it's hard to pick a BEST PLAYER when he plays on the wing. Mind you though, to be mentioned and being a winger, he was AWESOME.

Jason Smith - Awesome - Aggression & Skills & lots of Confidence. The only real problem was that he was way too adlib and therefore neither the defence nor his team mates knew what he was doing. His ability to throw the unthinkable pass was just pure greatness.

Cronin, Zip Zip Man, Pricey, Edge, Bookends all were brilliant too!

16 March 1986 v St George Dragons - the opening of the new Parramatta Stadium. Sterling was ON FIRE. Put Steve Sharp in for the opening try at the new stadium.

I'd love to say Grothe, but can't really vote for a winger.

Sterling by a nose  over Kenny

Brett Kenny was my favourite,

I saw Peter Sterling but that was at the time he was always injured . Still a great player though.

Jamie Lyon was one of my favourite players, I'd put him in my greatest parra players of all time. Shame he left so soon.

And why isn't Jonhston in the poll? Because we are all too young to have seen him play? Maybe that means we can't make a real choice, can we?

The Mayor changed full back play. He became the first full back to score a try in a Test in England, and then managed to score a try in every series he played. In his first season with Parra (1962) he joined from Leeds on a "guest" appearance. Remember, the Parra side had been in the comp since 1946 and had never qualified for the semi finals. Ken "or God" as he was known in those days never tasted defeat in the 9 games he played that year. He went back to England with four rounds to go. The Parra boys did not win another game that season. Beaten in the semi final I think from memory 6-0 by Wests, with Gil Macdougall (Adam's father) scoring both tries.
Next seasson Ken was back, joined by his brother Dick (another great player) and Ivor Lingard, Mike Jackson, Ian McCall, Ken Foord who all had pommy experience. The Parra boys won the semi final over Balmain, but lost to Dragons 12-8 in the preliminary final with the magical Reg Gasnier scoring twice.
Ken coached in 1964/65 befor moving to Coonabarabran as captain coach. He came back in 1971 under Ian Walsh and led the Eels into the semi finals once again. He was one hell of a player... Fittingly, a stand is named after him at the Stadium..We will never see the likes of him again. AN OUT AND OUT CHAMPION.

So why do you always claim that Stu Galbraith is/was??
