My nominations would be:

Harrison Hansen - Wigan
James Graham - St Helens
Karl Pryce - Bradford
Lee Smith - Leeds
Chris Bridge - Warrington
Danny Brough - Hull FC
James Roby - St Helens

my pick is James Graham.

Others to impress at various times over the season:
Tim Hartley - Salford
Tom Hemingway - Giants

Sam Obst for Wakey

Suerly he is not a young gun. Didn't he play for the Roosters? That was like 4 years ago. He would be in his mid 20s at least.

James Graham's certainly a strong lad, and pretty mobile with it too. James Roby has impresed me the most when I've seen him, and he'll sure have to stand up for Saints now.

Sam Obst isn't "young" young, but it's his first year at the top level over here.

There have been a lot of good young players that have stepped up to the mark this year, but I would give special preference to those who have come in from the cold and played themselves into a regular place in the 17. My top 5 would be:
James Graham (St Helens)
Bryn Hargreaves (Wigan)
James Roby (St Helens)
Harrison Hansen (Wigan)
Danny Brough (Hull FC)

He is nothing special, Wakefield have actually wasted a quota space on signing him.
He plays most of his games as a sub and is really suited to NL1. imo

Obst is in his mid 20s,Australian,and if even if he qualified for the award would still probably not be near it.

There certainly isn't a clear winner of this award this season.

With my Saints specs on Graham and Roby have been great, cemented their first team places confidently. Graham along with Maurie Fa'asavalu have evicted Keith Mason and Mark Edmonson from the squad altogether after both starting the season beneath them in the pecking order. Roby has all but bought Micky Higham a ticket out of the club too, and he deserves to be ahead of him.

From other clubs I think Hansen has been solid if unspectacular and Danny Brough has done well in the Cup run.

Sean Gleeson's played some good footy.

From all reports it sounds like Gleeson has a great game today for Wigan which is a fair effort from a 17yo. Chris Ashton scored two tries on his full debut.

I think James Graham has come on so well this season that he is now up there with the best forwards in SL already, he has a great work ethic.

Did Scott Moore for saints get many oppertunities this season Jason?

I have hardly seen a bloody thing all year with work and the like.

Started in the Hull home game in July and did well, and he's made a few substitute appearances after that but didn't really impress in the first Leigh away game, which was his last appearance in first grade.

A few people thought he would have been given a shot against Bradford last week but I guess DA didn't want to risk him in the finals. He''s still only 17 though so there's plenty of time for him to make his mark.

For the official accolade of Young Player of the Year, they have to be under 21 years of age at the start of the season so Brough doesn't qualify.
