Now that DA has gone who'll be the coach next year?

Tony Kemp may be seen as being pasrt of the DA regime. Should they look at a new fresh start?

Ivan Cleary perhaps?

Any others?

I'd said Cleary as well this morning. 2 years coaching the Rooster Premier League side is a good start.

I vote bring Ando back :)

I was going to say Kemp and Nikau but I wasn't aware that Cleary had been coaching at the Roosters. I'm sure a role could be found for all three.

Gould isn't a serious option, he would have to give up his broadcasting career and he has been concentrating on that for years.

And whats your suggestion Humphrey?

Id be happy with them targetting someone like Ivan Cleary. Someone who has proven Jersey Flegg or Premiers record. Someone who can draw some OS talent here. And quite frankly I dont think Kemp and Nikau will do that. Recruitment and ability to recruit has to be a big factor when selecting the next head coach

Why would you go for Nikau - while Waicoa Bay is doing OK if youd base selection soley on doing the job at Bartercard level (and I wouldnt)then you'd go with Bernie Perenara whos' winning the comp and coached grand finalist last year or Blue McClennan who I believe is at Mt Albert this year after some solid grand finals with HBC. But then thats pretty scary stuff also

See since we dont have a Premier side or Jersey Flegg side in the comp we dont have a natural progression of coaches and managers - thats the worry with team management and players IMO

If Skinz is serious the likes of Phil Gould as a coach who could come in, clean up and leave would be ideal while we get the next long term coach in but thats unlikely

AND when alls said and done what Id like to avoid is:

*aiming too low when making the next appointment. Lets not be too home-townish

* making an appointment as bizarre as the year the NZRL gave the Kiwis to Gary Freeman - based soely on his record as a player, a nice guy and a coach of an Under 16 side

BUT JoeD I can be honest enough to say - I havent really got a flippin clue who can turn this around at the end of day (Im a night shift worker with enough time on my hands in the day to contemplate questions Ill never be asked to give answers to) - the worry is however does Mick Watson

Gould is a good option, but there is no hope in hell of getting him over here.

Ivan Cleary - he would have respect of the newer players, but what about the Prima- er, older players?

Who can we steal from the Aussie teams?

Phil Gould would get my vote. David Waite is available.

I think it's time the Warriors got a REAL first grade coach, someone who has actually been through it all in the first grade. Not a reserve grade coach or assistant coach.

But Phil Gould would solve 2 problems in NZ. The Warriors coaching job and the damn Sky broadcasting job. He could clean out the f**king clowns we've got in there at the moment. MacGyver maybe could stay on.
