it not that we played heps poor but dragons where on fire but we have and should play better

and if memory serves me right.

Last time we played dragons we had a try disalowed early and it was all down hill from there

thats what they said when we played the roosters, we weren't too bad, just roosters were far suprerior..... i am starting to question HAVE WE IMPROVED?

I get the feelin that we've improved, BUT will never have any show against the top four sides (Dragons, Roosters, Broncos and Bulldogs)....and neither do the rest of the 10 sides...it's a four-horse race to the finish line I'm afraid!

Mate, tough luck on the loss. Even though I am an Eel for life, I like the Tigers - Westies and have a few ex-Eels too.

However, saying that the 10 other teams have no chance against the top 4 or 5 in the comp is ludicrous.

The Eels are vastly under-strength and yet still gave the game a fair go. In fact, had the refereeeing both ways been better (No Graham try, no two tries to Brissie for forward passes) and had our halfback stayed on the field, it might just have been different.

yeh eelementary, even though im a broncs supporter, the botton 10 sides always seem to say "if that dodgy thing didnt happen, things coulda been different", but the top sides keep winning those things, and the games never seem 'to be different', hence why they are the top 4 sides.

What are you trying to say?

I am just explaining that:

(1) Both the Broncos and the Eels got awarded terrible tries

(2) You lost Casey but still had Lockyer; we lost Dykes and had nobody (bar Morris).

I'm not maing excuses. But I am confident that had we not lost Dykes so early in the second half we would have been better.

Mind you, for such an 'unbeatable' team you only won by 10.

And sorry but the Dragons aren't top four... no where near it. The top four teams are consistant, and a team that is currently at 8-7 is not consistant.

The only reason why St.Gilla haven't been consistent is due to injury. Once they get their top 17 back on deck, they will be challenging the likes of the Roosters, Bulldogs, Penrith and Brisbane for the Premiership. No doubt about it. they proved their worth over Penrith twice, with a full strength and weakened side and still came out on top in both games. They are a quality outfit and will continue to sneak their way up the ladder. There is no doubting their ability to go all the way...

No disagreement that don't have the ability when they are on their game, but every team has injuries. Look at the broncos for example only a few weeks ago they were missing lockyer, and they are still missing Tallis and Berrigan, both of which are major game breakers... I hate teams blaming injuries, as every team has them...

Don't get me wrong, they are a very talented side, but they are no top four side.

With their top 17 on deck, i believe they are. With injuries, fair enough assessment, they may struggle to be seen as a top 4 outfit. You take, Lockyer, Webcke, Tallis, Carlaw, Civenoceva out of the Broncos, they're not a top 4 team either. Same goes with the Roosters, Panthers and Bulldogs. no matter how much depth every club might have, without their stars or big names on deck, all of those club's in the top 4 at the moment, would struggle to be there. For St.Gilla, they have missed Barret, Ryles, Cooper and still are missing Timmins, Blacklock and Bailey. Put them into the team, and they are a much improved side altogether.

their is a big gap between the top four and the rest--we will still make the 8--but only just.Its the same every year,the first half of the season every team can beat each other with a bit of luck--but come the second half of the season--the cream rises to the top.By this time the players are all match fit and combinations start to gell.IF we make the eight--we will be able to look back on the season with a smile--but its a big step to break into the elite top four.We can have all the great junior in the world-but without 2 more elite players we are going to struggle
