if you can class Armit as a rookie then es he did play 6 games last year

otherwise looking at guys who have not yet played 1st grade if there was to be a selection I'd go with O'Dwyer

Love to see him get a go.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pai or Thorman given a go seeing as both do play at 5/8. It would stop some of this conjecture over Wagon's selection.

I would have to say O'Dwyer.

Apparently he isn't too big, but is very strong, defensively brilliant and is also a playmaking 5/8. So at lock he'd be a great option.

Or also Jeremiah Pai or Thorman, as mentioned.

So after 10 mins when we see Wagon is f***ing up we have a replacement. Great idea

Wagon is probably under the biggest pressure of anyone in the team given the players that have been signed who can play his role so it will be interesting to see how he does perform. I doubt very much he will f**k up as you say as he has always been consistent for us aside from last year however he will have to do the job that Smith wants him to.

Wagon normally (he like all has had off games) is a very good defensive player. He may not be the best attacking 5/8 but I never said he was (other then jokingly).

I wouldn't be surprised to see a more creative player on the bench if WAgon is named 5/8. Possibly Witt, Pai, Thorman or O'Dwyer. But it will be to bring on later in the match to setup plays against a tiring Bulldogs side.

i know not for RD1 but for future shock selections i'd keep an eye on guys like Matt Lantry, Zeb Taia, Brendan Oake, Feleti Mateo and Tim Smith. if i had my way these guys would get a run, or at least a taste, like warming up with the first graders then sitting on the bench type thing

i didn't mean for RD1, but as the season progresses these are the names you'll be hearing IMO

If I was to choose 1 bolter to make the 17 it would be Feleti. some of us have compared him to Dymick and Smith I reckon this kid could be both of them in 1.

As for my rookie of the year I would have to take the conservative tip and say O'Dwyer.
