excluding T.Hill of course, we haven't had one (I don't think). Actually, Lowrie and smith probably got a game with NZ. But, excluding them as well...

And none of this city v country crap, that isn't representing anything. I want either a New Zealand, SOO or Australian rep. Also excluding our recent recruits.

Early money would have to be on Skando (because everyone rates him without ever watching him play, but I think that'll only get him to city v country level).

I think Galea lost any prospect of being a SOO rep with his poor performance last season that'll probably see him play off the bench next year.

I don't really see any of our current players making it so it might have to be one of our younger prospects.

so, who is it?

Halatau bolter for Kiwis in mid season test.

Sattler for QLD?

Prince for QLD?

Marshall to grab the vacant kiwi 5/8 spot by the tri series @ the end of next year, if he choses to play for them.

O'Neil to finally get some recognition in NSW if the Tigers are in the top part of the ladder.

Laffranchi or Halatau...if I were to put $$$ on either it would be Dene only
cause Boof is a bit on the small side and could go against him in selectors eyes...Halatau looks good, hits hard in both attack & defence...is good!

If brett hodgson finds his form again and mini gets injured it could fall right for him he was great for nsw a couple of years ago

If he got back to the form he was showing when he played for the blues
I'd be very very happy.
One standout game I think it was the 2nd in I dunno which year, '01 or 02
he carved Qld up, length of the field try,man of the match too I think.

I don't think Laffranchi will make it to SOO, or Skando, unless there are serious injuries. There is just too many better players at their position. on their day they can perform against the best and they are definately good players but I don't think either of them are consistantly dominant to warrant rep selection.

I think Benji could play for either QLD or NZ IF he lives up to his potential next season. Both teams struggle at that position. But, i just get the feeling he might be a little shaky at first, causing selectors to ignore him mid-season, probably a better chance to make a rep side the season after next.

I really don't think we'll have any rep players next year. I think our current players have been around a bit too long to suddenly be considered by selectors and our younger players are too inexperienced to get a go.

I reckon Bronson, Benji and Farah are our best chances for rep honours.

Apart from a player's personal form, another factor that helps assure players are selected for representative honours is where on the ladder the particular team in question is situated. If Wests are up near the top in Season 2004, it will only help players like Skandalis achieve their dream and ambition to take the next step in their Rugby League careers. The selectors only take note when the team is winning...

benji wont play rep for at least 2 years unless he makes an under 21s side

Or unless the kiwis decide to take him on next years tour because of the problem they have in their halves... it could also be a very wise option to try and lure his ties away from playing any form of rep footy for australia

but its his choice , look at villasanti hes on the roo tour because he was 1 second away from being picked for NZ & anderson the clown asked who he really wanted to play for

on benji he plays for queensland depending on how he goes the 1st 10 rounds cause prince will try to get a game & it depends on where they put berrigan , NZ have their halves combination for the next 6 years now

also the topic should have said "wholl be our NEXT rep player" as weve already had 3

Lowrie and Smith are the only two to actually play reps (other than city) whilst playing with the Tigers. Hell you'll be claiming McGuiness next.

I can't see any reps at the moment. The younger brigade are a chance, but not in 2004. Skando has no hope, Boof is a very long shot, and Galea has shot himself. Seeing as the blues aren't exactly overflowing with wing talent I'll throw Richards in as a real dark horse, but I don't rate him much and wouldn't be surprised to see him staying in reggies.

Hill played for NSW in 2000 and im sure McCracken was the NZ captain then. Hoppa admitedly only made reps recently.

Did he? - undeserved no doubt, but I can't remember him in 2000, I thought 98 was about the end for Tezza in the big time.

And McCracken - did he actually play? The injury was pretty early on, he may have been the incumbent when he signed but that ain't the same thing.

I was going to argue this - but am having trouble thinking of an even half-decent nsw winger...

surely they won't try to play a centre on the wing again after devere was such a disaster

but I hope for the blues sake that we can do better than richards (who I agree should start in Premiers)
