Who will improve the most in 2004?

I have to agree with most posts in this thread.
If Peachey returns to form, it will be a marked improvement on last year.
I'm also hoping to see a big year from Merrit.

The players who NEED to improve the most this year are Jason Stevens and Chris Beattie. They're our two main forwards but Nutley and Bailey have been doing most of the heavy lifting.

I think JS is a great clubman and Beats is a good laff, but it's time for them to shape up or ship out, ASAP.

Not so much a case of who was right, but more who was the least wrong.

I'd like to say Bird so he can live up to his hype(and to give SS the sh*ts) but I'll say Lomu. Lomu had poor season last year but from all reports his going great away from the roosters. I think he will step up for us and maybe play for NZ again. I'd also like to think players like Hilder will keep getting better.

Hopefully Bird - but I am expecting big things from Lomu and the Peach. Also Rieck!

merritt, spies tell me he could be our best buy, he will ebjoy the club and with vagana and franze inside and kimmorley calling the shots he will cross the stripe many times.
mcsharkie is spot on with peachey as well, imagine having him back to his best!

Greg Bird, he couldnt possibly get any worse.

he wasn't here last year but i think Mc Goldrick will play well this year and glad to be back .. I would have him on one wing and Merritt on the other..

Merritt will be the best buy. He will be our leading try scorer I reckon.

I'm going with Merritt. I hope he scores a squillion tries and converts them all.

In the backs I think Merritt could be the talk of the town as to why Souths let their best junior in god knows how many years slip through their recruitment system.

I agree with Slamming Sammy, being very much improved.

However, I reckon Sully has been a stand out improver. From inconsistent, mistake riddled player, to a real game breaker.
