that's fine, but I really believe you should try and form an opinion based on what you've seen, people won't like what I'm going to say but this current group of second tier players are not as special as some people make it and that includes Filiga who will start in reserve grade for the first time in a couple of years, he's an explosive wide runner but will struggle to still play for 80 minutes at that level.
both Oake and Horo are head and shoulders above him and any other player coming out of that Wenty forward pack but I will say that Tim Robinson has shown great improvement in the past 12 months and could be the next cab off the rank in terms of backrowers that we have.
I disagree. The current name Wenty squad being Pele, Filiga, etc are actually all pretty special.... as second tier players. I think a lot of people are overestimating what they could do in 1st grade in any immediate term. This is not unexpected though seeing how Ricky Stuart had the same problem. Players of that calibre though need a few games before any real judgment can be made.
Wright, Oake & now Horo are definite fringe first graders.
Robinson & Etu would be safe choices to cover long term injuries.
Pele could do well if called for the right reasons (to be Fui when Fui's off)
Mitchell & Lasalo IMO need a decent year training with 1sts, maybe couple of games, before I expect them to go on the Mannah learning curve.
Filiga is already on the Mannah curve but he had a very different starting point - can he continue to improve to the point of 1st grade?
I put him in the same boat as Humble in that they perhaps need a taste (2nd taste) of first grade to boost their development.
There are others like Blackburn who have surely got the attention of someone in the 1st grade staff.
None of them are ready for full time 1st grade but there is only one way they'll get ready, and that is to experience 1st grade
