Todd Carney (hamstring), Michael Gordon (calf, knee), Wade Graham (shoulder), Jayson Bukuya and Anthony Tupou could all have played if the game meant something, while skipper Paul Gallen is out through suspension.
More players, including hooker John Morris, are likely to be rested.
The Sharks have already secured a home semi-final and coach Shane Flanagan is not prepared to risk injuries.
All will return for the semi-final on Saturday week.

Dogs will get smashed by Cowboys. We will beat Sharks if we advance on Sunday. We came back to beat Sharks in front of their home crowd. Our backline is easily twice theirs. Same for the Dogs. It is embarrassing the lack of faith here. This 'let's face reality crap' is ignorant.

Agreed. Especially if you watched last nights game and watched how important it is to have a big front rower rip in.Without snowden I'm not too confident of matching any team we face in the finals. His suspension was a massive blow for us.
Newcastle Knights
The Knights have picked up their form at the right end of the season, but there's still some question marks over whether their best 17 has the class to match it with the other finalists. If Wayne Bennett could have picked any side to kick-off their top eight campaign, it would probably have been Des Haslrer's men.
