Steelers were a better club than Saints during their era.

Steelers v Saints era: 1982-1998

Grand Final appearances: Saints 4, Steelers 0
Semi Final appearances: Saints 8, Steelers 2
Wooden Spoons: Saints 0, Steelers 3

It doesn't get any "better" than that.......

I am a long-time Souths fan.
Manly deserve a wrap for their win. This stays for 7 days. Everyone should bow to them.

Thats where I live.

No splinters, no pain here....all makes total sense to me!!

Unlike Willow's rudeness!

 you are an idiot mate! Steelers better than Saints in the era :lol:.

The steelers had class, Saints were a dogs breakfast.

Jamie Ainscough was your only player in this era with any merit.

You wouldnt know what a troll was even if you lived under a bridge.

The fact of the matter is that the old Saints croney nuffies hate Steeler-ism.

And the Steelers here are too kind & polite to fight back. But that wont stop old dave from sticking up for truth, justice and the Illawarra-way.

Steelers = courage

Saints= champagne tool-headed socialists

The last decent junior to play for Saints was Rocket Rod Reddy.

Give 'em a taste of steel!

Been a St George fan since I was about 6 years old (I'm 22 now). I'm left-wing and I don't 'hate' nor even 'dislike' the Steelers, in fact they used to be a team I liked to see win because of the similar colours to St George. Why is that all the old Steelers fans think that all the old Dragons fans "hate the Steelers and are rude about it" whereas all their other old Steelers fans don't hate the Dragons and are quite pleasant all the time?

Just after leaving Queensland, Rocket played a game at fullback for the Kogarah Magpies-that is about the most famous junior club in the district.

You old lonely fogey Saints sandshoe-lickers, no wonder the steelers fans want to curse and defame you when you head down to the gong.

Youre all pigs wearing lipstick!

Give 'em a taste of steel!

Really only supported the dragons in 2002 so it's difficult to say who i supported. I voted st george in the poll as i would have more than likely chose them as they are a lot closer to me than illawarra.

There are nine mighty heroes in the poll thus far.

The maginificent nine!

A poem for the illawarra part of the J.V.

I love a scarlett jersey,
And flame trees by the sand
A mighty Mt Keira
And Unanderra is my land.

A steel city arises
With people brave and true
Who know how to play rugby league
A university too

The Steel in my heart
Shall never melt away
Even padded by a dragon
And Doustee's rude toupee

We are forever Steelers
From the land of sea and air
A region full of heroes
Of courage and those who dare!

Give 'em a taste of steel!

Kogarah Magpies?

What year was that Dave?

Hey Dave, I assume you do know its an open poll. Are you trying tell us that before 1999 you were a Steelers supporter?

(cough) Yes well, I saw a few of their matches from time to time.

I had a mate who played in the lower grades for the steelers until a foot injury wiped him out.

I also saw Lindner play the best game of Rugby League I have ever seen.

I saw a young Girds too.

Nobody cared about Saints in those days.

They were merely a place where the Kogarah Magpies went to take it easy, earn big bucks and retire.
