Why are we such an unsuccessful club?

Irwin is quite a handy player actually.

Shame he had to go, but his attitude sounds like it was a problem.
Same could be said of Frawley.
Still not crying though.

Dubby, I've got to disagree with you regarding Dunemann. All he would have done is hold back crucial first grade exposure for the likes of Dobbo and Hinchcliffe. We'll never move forward if we keep signing 30+ year old stopgaps in our playmaker roles IMO.

Players leave all the time , the ones that have gone recently arent that huge of a loss either , Choc and Mogg are the only two I would of kept excluding Croker who you couldnt deny his nest egg. The young guys are now at the club , they need developing into a FG'er and thats attitude and mental toughness , the club needs direction and I think it will happen with Henry and the young crop of players , what we must do is secure long term contracts for the likes of Zilly , carney , Picker and build a base around these players. I dont think we need any high profile signings ( I know we wouldnt get one anyway ) some smart scouting and development of the current squad will be fine. It would be nice to score a player the likes of a Noa or the Volcano again.

Agree and disagree with your thoughts mate ..

Some of the players that left are not huge losses (and that includes Croker). Choc and Mogg would have made a difference to our season.

Yep, we need to secure long term contracts ... if Carney is lost to this club I will be banging on the doors of management and I would implore all fellow Raiders supporters to do same.

We do need high profile signings. That is where this club falls down badly. We pay our average players too much and dont have enough left over for two or three signings that make all the difference between a 4 point loss and 4 point win and our subsequent position on the table.

There are many elements at this club that auger for a bright future ... realistically you require ALL the elements to be in place to elevate us to the top. And it wont happen until the adminstrators of this club alter their approach or are replaced by others who are willing to make those decisions.

If you do a quick search on Irwin alot of people do actually rate him but he just loves to party too much. Needs to take Damon Alley Tovio's advice, work hard, than party
