Interesting news on Hegarty. I am relatively pleased with our work in the transfer market, especially if we pull off the signings Reefy has suggested will come true. I'm not too fussed if we loose Reick for Grothe. Whilst Reick can be a match winner on his day, he is very inconsistent, probably due to the fact that all he has going for him is speed. He will never be the complete winger, as he doesn't look to have much talent to back up the pace. However if Bird goes, he's the one who will most likely bite us on the arse.
Like what NCL said, I still think we have great bunch of kids coming through. Definately the best batch we've had since the likes of Peach, Ritson, Rogers, Dykes, Graham, Ryan and Triester all emerged from the same team. I think Simmo, Galloway, Aitken, Williams and Green will all be long term first graders. They could potentially be joined there be others such as Kris Pyper and Cam Ciraldo. Out of that lot, 5 or 6 are under 19, so its not often you get 6 players from the same age group, 4 or 5 local juniors, who all end up in first grade together. There's not much ahead of them, in the under 20/21/22 age groups, so thats why it may appear we aren't producing top quality kids.
