Simple, we score a big score and we get complacent, when we get in that mode we make bad mistakes, and we just don't get the wickets to stop the batsman going on with it. Although I think (not sour grapes my honest thought) it would be easier to score a big one chasing rather than setting if you get a good start because you know exactly what needs to be done, setting you just score runs as best you can, chasing you stay above a certain rate.
