Why Dean Young?

Ok, I get Dean Young as an Interchange forward coming off the bench to play roughly 30 - 40 minutes depending on whats needed, but why do I continue to hear sh*t about him being picked at 9?

Why would you pick Dean Young at hooker when you have Farah and Ennis to choose from?

Dean Young is barely a hooker. Lock, and one of the better locks too.

I hope he isn't. There hasn't been anything wrong with Farah's form really, not 09, 10 standard, but still good. We need creativity in the hooking role to help our 6 and 7, someone with a more all round style game, like smith.

Both Farah and Ennis are 80 minute hookers. No need for Young or Gidley.

junior albert was a state of origin type player in '05.

before the golden staph stuff, his skills matched his ticker. he has been a shadow of his former self since.

I am very biased but I doubt any coach in the NRL would pick Young at hooker if the had the choice of him and Farah. Farah is a far better dummy half than Young. As others have said Young is a good lock but I believe we have better in that position. For mine Young would not be in my NSW squad.

always been against young at hooker, not quick enough out of dummy half and slows down the attack, as a ball playing lock though he is great but cant see him getting a spot there

As a hooker, he is behind Farah and Ennis, and most of the other decent NSW hookers.

As a utility, he is behind Gidley, Bird and Lewis.

As a ball-playing lock, he is behind Lewis, Bird and Anasta.

So he doesn't really warrant selection IMO.
