chase Shannon Hegarty?

Does anyone know the circumstances of his departure? Is he very injury prone?

He is a young representative centre who wouldve been a good pickup. He also went to Souths so maybe he doesnt mind playing for a lower team.

Why didnt we even try?

How about Joe Williams - does anyone rate him?

Just like every house needs a foundation before it's built, every backline needs a forward pack to lay some sort of foundation for them to work off. Personally I want a half back who can do both. It becomes hard in a side like ours when you have to hide a player in defense. But I do agree with what you are saying, and I have brought Williams name up several times in the last 18 months

Hegarty wasn't actually off contract this year, he asked for a release to join Souths, so I'm not sure we really has a chance to chase him (although I would have loved to see him at the club we can't go around chasing every good player trying to get them released from a contract). He is also far too good a player to spend several weeks in reserve grade making a comeback so I'm not sure if something funny is going on.

I think with Marshall, Reynolds and Sheens is asusming we will ahve enough creativity next year, its just a shame that injuries have limited them this year.

I rate Joe Williams but I wouldn't pay him the $200K Manly are reportedly offering him. If we were going to go after anyone this year it should have been Price.
