lack of corporate facilities is the killer for both leichhardt and campbelltown. if they had corporate facilities to compare with anz then the other problems would be manageable.

Cos noyce says so
It must be true
I mean who wouldn't treat as sacrosanct the words of a man who thinks `News Ltd are good for the game'
Who has given the Tigers 5 home grounds in a season
It gives him justification for playing at the whoredome

Got nothing to do with Noyce and what his preferences are, he has already stated on numerous occassions that he would personally much rather play at the traditional venues.

The reality is that a full house at Leichardt will bring in around $10K at the end of the day, Campbelltown on average over the last 3 years has lost about that same amount per game. Out at ANZ the deal means we get about $60K in freebies (catering, security, screens et al) before we even walk in the door, we have facilities for corporates, and with a half decent crowd its all cream with no expenses. Thats the reason despite what some luminaries on here will tell you.

Having said all that, the difference between these traditional grounds and ANZ I reckon is about 8 points during a season and thats the difference between top 4 and missing the 8 so I guess that should also weigh into the argument but usually doesnt.

When they refer to them "loosing $60k" it is in reference to the difference that ANZ pay the Wests Tigers to play there which is about $80k and the final gate takings which is approx $20k after you take out the expenses that have been already mentioned. So it is creative journalism, yes they loose $60k but it is COMPARATIVELY.
As much as the fans hate ANZ, the stadium has given WT an opportunity to almost be fully self-funded, with one of the best sponsorship portflios in the NRL at around $4.5 million. With other great work that the club does to raise revenue the contribution of the associated League Clubs last financial was only $750,000, not bad when you consider what other teams get funded from their Leagues Club's.
I for one think the club is doing a great job in raising revenue and working towards being a self funded club. So when everyone bags them for taking money from ANZ don't forget that the only alternative is to rely on the unstable flow of money from Leagues Clubs.

Yep I hear this is a big issue. Not sure how much more manageable it would be if we had better corporate facilities, but I'm sure we would be better off for it.

Sorry but this sounds a load of tosh to me! Many English clubs play out of their own grounds and manage to turn a tidy profit. Do the sums:

16,000 people avergaing $20 a ticket = $320K
Food and drink sales (@$5 spend per person) = $80K
Corporates = $25K (which is extremely low but as the facilities aren't good we'll keep it very low)

Thats $425K.

Even 50 staff (which is probably much more than reality) getting $30/hr for 8 hours = $20k tops. Screen hire, police charges, rental to council etc may add anothe $150K tops.

That still leaves a significant profit from where I sit.
