Why does the Telegraph flat out lie and misquote?

So I saw this article with the subheading

"JAMIE Lyon feared he broke his leg against Cronulla but now he wants to break South Sydney's hearts in Friday's final."

So I clicked it expecting to see some controversial fighting words. And as usual, absolutely nothing in the quotes resembles the title. In fact Lyon doesn't even mention the Rabbitohs. You can find hundreds of these examples and it seems to be getting worse this year.

How is it the Telegraph has zero accountability for their constant misquoting?

And they wonder why their access is restricted so much by teams?

All you have to do is look a the anti Rudd agenda in the telegraph for months, to see how pathetic Murdoch and his media outlets are.

They're Murdoch's flagship Australian newspaper. It would almost be weird if they didn't lie, misquote and generally report nothing but shit.

You just answered your own question. Now with the big shift towards digital media, they make their money off hits to an article. They dont actually care if you read it, just flick on long enough to see their ads.

Sure, they have no credibility, but they havent had credibility in a long time and it hasnt hurt them up to this point.

They're just a gossip rag trying to get the attention of people that cant even sit though an entire YouTube video unless it involves cats. You cant blame them for trying on some tricks.

I'll keep it simple.
Does Jamie Lyon want to win this weekend?
Yes.
Would Manly winning break Souffs hearts?
Yes.

The headline is accurate.

TBH. given the Telecrap's over-the-top anti-Dragons campaign leading into the 2009 finals (including getting a local family who don't support the Dragons, and dressing them up in supporters' gear supplied by the reporter to make them the face of the rag's campaign to have a game moved from Kogarah), the Jamie Lyon quote (or lack thereof) is pretty tame.

Mayhaps Ritchie tried to extrapolate from his tone

Yes is the answer to your question.
Why? To sell newspapers or get hits on their websites, which I do neither

Journalists are a law unto themselves, don't know how they sleep at nights.

Bottom feeders.

Souff get positive lies, try being a Sharks or Panthers fan

Or a Roosters fan. Alcho Cheeks Slothfield and bellybutton gazing Wilson have had an agenda against us for years. Apparently we've been dragged into the ASADA investigation without actually having been dragged into the ASADA investigation.

News Limited = Murdoch's minions, pathetic sock puppetts who sully the field of journalism on a daily basis.

Chook.

the DT is scum

Exactly UP and ED.

The Daily Telescum have an agenda against us for years.

The DT's year long hate campaign against us leads me to believe if Souths or the Tigers had been involved in the investigation would they have attempted to trash them like they have done to us all season? I highly doubt it.

How these merkins sleep straight at night is beyond me.

If Wilson, Massoud and Hooper worked anywhere else, they'd have been lining up in the Centrelink queue ages ago.

The world actually has a parallel universe. There is what actually happened, (eg the facts) and what News Ltd says happened.
