I have no idea how many either have although your nrl vic numbers might be close. I’m not sure we’d want to follow the afls approach by the way. They are throwing money around like confetti for minimal gain.I want to say from the start this is NOT a knock on the staff at NRL Victoria they have been fantastic in my dealings with them but I believe they have 9 staff members where as AFL NSW/ACT have 270. Why?
Sure maybe Rugby League doesn't need 270 in Victoria but they def need more especially to focus on regional cities like Bendigo and BallaratI have no idea how many either have although your nrl vic numbers might be close. I was talking to a mate of mine whose grandson played union in Melbourne this year. With the death of the rebels he’s off to league with many of his mates. He’s an under 17. We will see growth there regardless.
NRL vic has been underfunded for many many years. Some Einsteins here complain about the lack of growth in juniors in Victoria ignoring the simple fact the game there is run on the smell of an oily rag. The fact the game has grown it has as much as it has is a tribute to the hard work from a small team. Things have definitely improved with funding but it’s not anywhere where it should be. On other words I agree with you. I ran the game in Tassie for a few years. It was an unforgiving labour of love that led to nothing.Sure maybe Rugby League doesn't need 270 in Victoria but they def need more especially to focus on regional cities like Bendigo and Ballarat
I want to make it clear that what I'm about to say is NOT a reflection of anyone at NRL Vic. I have found Scott helpful.NRL vic has been underfunded for many many years. As a love of noth Aussie rules and Rugby League I was starting up Aussie rules in Bourke outback NSW population 2500 (left before it got very far) and now I am slPrrsident of the Bendigo Crushers, Bendigo population 120,000. I got about the same level of help both times but look at the difference in size.
Agreed but this is the problem with V'Landys in both the sports he runs he cares about the top end but not the grass rootsI get that mate. We and they can only do our best
Mate it was a lot worse before he took over. The way he has recognised the need to branch the game out from just tackle to all forms of the game was well overdue.Agreed but this is the problem with V'Landys in both the sports he runs he cares about the top end but not the grass roots
Victorians are generally very poor athletes
He’s on itSource?
Well the Australian cricket team should be enough. Warne is their only good player in 30 years.Source?
