Why I'm excited by 2004

Yeah, I take back what I said about it taking more than a coach to bugger up halves... I cannot fathom why Smith chose to start 2004 with Dykes at halfback (?) and Witt shifted between half, five-eighth and bench in premier league. #-o

Look at Witty now - it's understandibly taken him that long to get his confidence back to what it was at the end of last season. Smith's Wagon-Dykes experiment may have cost the team valuable points and performances.

But yeah, I'm still looking forward to next year with all those signings...

In fairnes if someone told me we'd be without Lyon, Vaealiki, Cayless & Cannings for 90% of the season then I would have expected us to be battling for a top 8 spot which we are at the moment.

Agreed with Parraren

AND

The players we have signed for 2005 are a class above those we signed for 2004!!

Grothe has been playing great (and is a steal) but Tahu is already an Australian rep!

Pearson and Cannings haven't played all that much this year - but Stringer and Robinson probably offer the same quality

Thorman was an unknown who didn't pan out - we know what we'll get from the Pig

Muckert/ Muspratt are fringe first graders, Morrison was their master and commander at Nth Qld and will be here!

Misty, it must be fun being a pessimist all the time.... I guess nothing will ever be good enough until we win the grand final with a record score and our entire squad gets picked as the Aussie squad - and that would all be in spite of Smith's horrible coaching wouldn't it?
