Why this NRL ad is simply the worst

Can someone upload this to youtube? NRL.com doesn't allow for overseas viewers to see stuff on their website.

They are playing it safe this year, maybe too safe.

My sentiment exactly. The oomph is missing. And it was kinda stretchy with all the characters in it (wtf is up with that rodeo clown). I don't particularly mind this one, but I was much more enthusiastic about last years'.

i dont have a problem with it. shows up some of the great moments of last year. and after last years debacle it probably is safer to focus on the game rather than individuals

i didnt mind the ad either, keep it simple, but have a message nd get us pumped...now, if they would just go back to showing them in adelaide like in the 90's.

greatest ad campaign Ive seen was when I was in USA for NFL playoffs...

Don Cheadle is brilliant and cool without trying
the ads are simple, to the point, but just plain...cool.

5 seconds - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w40wqvdKCc&feature=related

roman numerals - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io6VyzWpHkk&feature=related

impossible - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMpG3jPlwec&feature=related

i can easily see someone like Hugh Jackman (Manly supporter) doing something like this.

I just watched those, and they do absolutely nothing for me.

I'd love to know what the last great ad for Rugby League was...

Nothing wrong with this ad and far superior to last years. It appeals to me, but I doubt it would appeal to new fans.

i liked the one that had tubthumping played too it, was an ad of just big hits.

tbh i think the best ad would just be like the ones nein show before big games, just 30secs of massive tackles and great plays and touches of skill (simialr to what this eyars nrl ad has). i dont even think it needs voiceover till the end as the action sells the product

I love this one:

I also loved the las years one, I think the song worked great and had an upbeat feel about it.

That "impossible" NFL ad could work - Hayne v Dragons try, Marshall flick and Nathan Merrit's dropgoal against the Tigers would be much better than what is in the original ad. But the rest of them are too off the wall american.

Anyway, be happy NRL fans, as at least you don't have the RFL doing your ads - those SUCK!

It's boring, way too safe, zero impact... just crap basically.
Exactly the type of ad they should avoid in a crowded sporting market that's only getting more competitive with the AFL coming to Western Sydney.

I watched in 5 mins ago and I've already forgotten it.

As others have said, this is what you get when a committee or focus group decides your advertising strategy. NRL need to grow some balls and do something that stands out.

I think the last good one was the ARL's 1997 ad "It's my game".

I don't get why this journo wrote an article bagging the ad. Just saw it for the first time and I really liked it. Focus on fans and not so much of the flashy on-field stuff/highlights!
