Why we can Beat the Broncos

I honestly rate our chances of beating Brisbane better than i rated us beating Newcastle 2 weeks ago. This is why:

1. Confidence - the last two weeks have been awesome confidence boosters, especially for the young players like Afagamasa and Anderson. The massive win on Sunday will lift the whole team - self belief is at a high for the 1st time this season

2. Origin - half the Brisbane team is backing up only 3 nights after playing what will be a tough origin game. If NSW win, the players will definately have a negative attitude going into Sat nights game. Lockyer is only just back from injury..will he survive 160mins in 3 days?? I don't think so.

3. Support - the eels fans will be out in droves on Saturday night. I was at the game on sunday and you could tell that the players fed off the crowd all afternoon. The place was so vocal i was surprised when i heard there was only 11000, sounded like at least 16000. Saturday night i reckon we'll get close to 18,000! Get out there!

4. Brian Smith - nothing he loves better than to beat Wayne Bennett. Enough of everyone baggin the shit out of our coach, what he has instilled in the team over the last fortnight is brilliant and i wouldnt want any other coach to be in charge of our team. He will have the guys pumped and ready for another awesome spectacle of a game.

Parra to win by 12..

Go The Eels!!!

You can never under estimate the quality of the Bronc's. Let's hope the boys grow with this new found confidence and we can once again beat the Bronc's this weekend.

Tate was already ruled out and todays' Courier Mail reported that Tallis is out for a further 2 weeks withi his neck problem.

I hope we don't underestimate Karmichael Hunts' affect on this game...it could be huge.

Some of the Broncs (ie. Kelly, Meyers, Learoyd, Webb....the side also contained Paul Green, Scott Minto) who may be called up this weekend were beaten at their own home ground by Easts (who have in their team Darren Smith and Steve Renouf) 30-22 on Saturday.

I think the Broncs are going to be up against it. Their recent form hasn't been that great.

I'll be tipping the Eels for sure.....mainly through what I have seen in their enthusiasm and excitement over the last two weeks.

Frankly, I think we are specials this time.

I hope that doesn't come back and bite me on the arse.

I'm taking the more relaxed approach, only because I have to miss a cracker of a game because of a dinner I agreed to take the wife to five weeks ago before the NRL put down the games. I was sure it would be a Sunday.... :(

I think it will be close, not much in it and we'll just scrape home. ;-)

This is the key game of the season so far. Let's not forget we have to play Penruff away next weekend and so a win here will do the boys wonders really build up some steam for next weekend.

Just quietly, I'm pretty confident of a good result this weekend, we are getting them at a good time, coming off a good win. Fingers crossed, hey?
