Why we should consider a 'Neutral' Home Semi

Check out the NRL ladder:
St George Illawarra;
Home Record: 8 Wins, 3 Losses. Points Differential +186.
Average Margin = 17 points.
Away Record: 7 Wins, 4 Losses. Points Differential +11.
Average Margin = 1 point.

There are only 3 teams (us, Roosters +30, and Storm +6) who have a positive Away differential.

So, when that w*nker from the Tele calls on Doust for a Neutral Semi, as long as we get 16 points start, I think it'd be worth it. Any less than that, & it stays at Kogarah.

i heard that if we have a non-sydney team we will be playing at Kogarah. If we play a sydney side, we will be at SFS.

we can only be playing canberra, brisbane, warriors or least likely, the roosters.
we will play the loser of brisbane vs canberra in the final round imo.
unless we lose both our games that is, then we will play the winner of it.
so most of those scenarios are looking like kogarah.

In the rare chance we play the Roosters, surely we would not move it to their home ground???

I wish they'd release tickets now, so Saints fans can buy them all, and leave none for our opponents supporters. Any advantage we can get we should take.

My thoughts exactly.

But the annual push is on. I'm sure Jpac and other opposition supporters will be backing the move though, and ramping it up in about a week from now.

Kogarah thanks and sell out too it' sounds fair to have 20K Dragons supporters behind the Red V. I also hope Doust tells the next knob who suggest SFS or ANZ no thanks.

I can certainly see both sides of the argument, but at the end of the day the clubs that finish in the top 4 deserve to chose where they play their home semi to give them the greatest advantage and chance of winning. As a Raiders fan, I know I would certainly prefer to play the Dragons at the SFS or ANZ than Kogarah.

As I said in the other forum, I think many who are calling for the match to be moved would be the same people who wanted it to stay at Kogarah last year, with the result of last years match changing their minds.

We play well to finish in the top four, to finish in the top 4 you get a home game. Think about it this way - If you were the Broncos/Raiders/Souths/Roosters etc, where would you want to play? At Kogarah, in front of 20,000 hostile Saints fans? I doubt it.

Kogarah is our home ground...we've deserve to play OUR home semi there.

And that sums it up as well. Opposition supporters and teams would rather play us at a neutral venue.

The facts back this up. Our biggest wins have have been at Home, our biggest losses have been at Away venues.

SCG our home during the glory days
The SCG was not our home in the 50s and 60s. It was Match of the Day as scheduled.

Our home was Kogarah. Back then we were undefeated at home for 12 or 13 years.

I don't mind people forgetting the facts ocassionally, but (with respect) rewriting history is a different matter entirely.

Yep. I'm sure the wimp factor is playing its part.

We lose a game or two and they cave. Either that or they just want to be 'comfy'. FMD, they probaby drink chardonnay and prefer strawberry topping on their pavlovas. Wimps.

Yes, and every team in the top four is entitled to this. No one else gets asked to move to a neutral venue.

Canberra haven't won at Kogarah since 1999, longer than you guys haven't won down in Canberra.

That said, there's only been three games in that time :sarcasm:
