Why won't anyone think about Byron O'Halloran?

CRONULLA are on the lookout for a new sponsor - their sixth in three years. They've now had LG, Hisense, Blades, Fisherman's Friend and Shark on the front of the jersey since 2009. Spare a thought for young fans such as nine-year-old Byron O'Halloran who saved all his pocket money last year to buy the latest jersey. The sponsor stayed for only three months.

EY CLEARY...

Dont get too cocky.

ST GEORGE Illawarra Dragons have been hit hard by the collapse of building company Southern Cross Constructions (NSW).
Dragons chief executive Peter Doust revealed yesterday the club had not received payment from the company for its 2012 sponsorship.
In recent years, the name of Southern Cross Projects has been prominently displayed on the sleeves of players' jerseys.
While Mr Doust said the amount owed was "commercial in confidence" it is likely the high-profile Dragons would charge about $450,000 to $500,000 a year for sleeve sponsorship.
The Canberra Raiders, who are rarely seen on free-to-air TV, publicised the fact they would receive $350,000 next year for sleeve sponsorship from Defence Housing Australia.
Mr Doust told of the financial blow after members of St George District Rugby League Football Club were unable to get an explanation for why the club's annual general meeting was not being held as usual this month.
He said the district club, a shareholder in the Dragons, was not able to finalise its accounts for the year because of the 2012 season sponsorship debt.
Like all creditors, the club had been waiting to be advised whether it would receive any payment.

"The meeting has been postponed until February so we can give statutory notice," he said.
"We had already agreed to move on so far as partnership in 2013 was concerned."
Last month, the Dragons announced apparel partner, Always, had agreed to become sleeve sponsor for the next three seasons

I do know that if they have used the same mob to rebuild it ...that thing might be about to fall down again as it has been blowing it's arse off since Sunday morning down here.
