I'm trying to work out what type of half widdop is. With his limited control at melbourne, is he a half that will take on the line, and or is he an organising half. What type of half is he and who would suit him as a partner. As far as I have seen of him he isn't a great kicker. What does everyone think it am I over analysing things. I think if we know the role widdop will have in the side we can rule out alot of available halves.

Widdop is coming to the dragons because he wants to have more control and make a name for himself away from the Big 3. TBH, I've always seen him as more of a ball runner (used to also play fullback) but I've heard he can be a VERY handy #7, and he is definitely a decent ball player. Havent seen his long-kicking game (due to Cronk/Smith being in charge) but isn't too bad on the short kicks. I think he is very adaptable and will be able to play whatever role is needed..

for all the problems Soward is having, he does possess one of the best kicking games in the comp - especially long ones to space. Whoever partners Widdop will need a long kicking game. Dugan is an option from fullback if he stays - but you need 2 players with longer kicks ( or smart kicks that find space )

King and not Stanley should be at 6 this week. Cook and Rein could be the rotation hookers. Makes a lot more sense to me.

Once Price gets his hands on him he will be a $hite half...

In all honesty though he looks like he is not afraid to take on the line and he has a good kicking game.

You bloody beauty. At last a person that will take the line on & not get hidden in the defence line. The mind boggles. Other players may be able to carry out their own duties!!!!

Nice try, but you can't blamePeter Doust for missing out on this guy either.

As most people know, Tomkins is close to signing for the Warriors & it's a bit like the Dragons with Dugan. It will happen soon, but just sorting out contract details.
