Wigan really haven't got that many players left out injured at the moment. Carney, Hodgson and then Lam who I don't think has even been offered a new contract. (Apologies if I've missed any out though, I've had a couple and they're the only ones who spring to mind). We've got just as many out - Bennet, Gleeson, Stankevitch, Jonkers. And I wouldn't say we have an "injury crisis" at all :? . Hull, on the other hand seem to have a curse hanging over them. Even Bradford have suffered quite a few injuries, to big name players as well.
One Wigan fan said they were short on halves - O'Loughlin, Orr, Robinson and Brown and then Lam possibly coming back in the near future. If anything they look really short in the centres and wing positions.
Some of the passing from Saints was poor today. Scully, Long and Higham, players in our pivotal positions seem to have very dodgy distribution at times. There's no doubt the weather didn't help but I think Saints need to work on passing more on training.
Cunningham played a blinder once again and was our best player by far. For Wigan Farrell looked very impressive and back to full fitness. Great news for GB.
Saints bossed the first half but Wigan never said die throughout and played very well in the 2nd half. I'd say a draw is a very fair result. Both sides showed a lot of guts and passion. Both drop goals were pretty impressive efforts as well with the pressure they were hit under and in the conditions. I'm happy with the result and so are all the Wiganers I know.
I can't understand why some people were writing Wigan off before this game. I know they lost to Hudds but they're a very decent side and I'm not looking forward to playing them. Look at the Wigan line-up, it's a pretty strong outfit! I actually thought we were going to lose this one given the hoodoo Wigan have had over us in recent years.
Highlight of the game has to be Edmondson tripping over himself and flying through the air Matrix style  The brawl was pretty good as well. Can't beat a good punch up on derby day! Bring back the biff
Leeds-Bradford was a cracker as well. And what an effort by Widnes to see off Wire in their own backyard. It's gonna be a tough, see-saw year for most the sides this season!
