Who else saw after the game when he was crying when intiveiwed. This just goes to show how much pride the Kiwis have in the jumper and just how important international rugby league is.

It brought a teat to my eye as well. One of the best moves in recent years, making Wiki captain. Probably should have happened sooner ...

It's called stepping up for a big game. Peaking when it counts.

Something that a lot of our "star" players never quite master - many of my own Parramatta players included.

he had a cracking game last night and deserves all the praise he gets over the next couple of days.

he's just an iron, iron man in both body and mind. It can't have been much fun getting trousered by AUstralia all these years, in matches where you just knew NZ were on a hiding to nothing. But he's never shirked any work or responsibility and that takes some real character.

He's the definition of a leader in my book. I dread to think the punishment his body has to go through year on year, but the guy just gets on with it and to such a high standard.

Ruben Wiki is the most influential player in the game. Not Johns, Lockyer or anyone else. It is Wiki.

If there was one guy I'd want next to me in the trenches or in a foxhole, it'd be Ruben Wiki.

Ruben is a great man.

On and off the field.

I know the Raiders fans used to rave about the bloke and his spirit towards his club, after the Broncos/Warriors game this year the Warriors had a special aftermatch function. Most players came and went within say 30-40-50 minutes, Ruben was still there taking photos and talking to the fans near on 3 hours into the function when we decided to go.

I've come across some terrific Warriors players off the paddock; Campo, PJ, Toopi, believe it or not Gorillasanti, Ivan Cleary - but two are head and shoulders ahead of even their efforts - Stace and Ruben.

He is a true legend, and will play for the Kwiw's until he retires.

He showed something the Aussie forwards have missed since Webke

He'd play until he's 60 if he could.

I wondered about the Warriors purchasing him at 30, but when I think about it it was a smart move, as he'll play until he's 35 as long as his body holds up, and he isn't showing any real injury problems yet. I reckon he's still a few years off hanging up the boots yet. A true legend of the game.

Ruben Wiki has never walk away from a challenge . He has turn out for Samoa when he didn't had to .
Very good player and a very loving guy among the Auckland Pacific Island community .
I think the Warriors made the wrong decision to give the captaincy to Price . Wiki is the man who would get the Warriors the priemiership .

Its funny, the Warriors signed him and people said oh its his last contract, I have a suspicion it won't be.

I see Wiki is co-nominated alongside former Junior Kiwi teammate Tana Umaga for the NZ Samoan sportsman of the year award. I hope he gets this one after all his efforts this year.
