Will Smith has proven quite a versatile signing in his short time with us and I note he is only 21 years young. He has some ability and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes his debut for us at some stage this season. Not sure what his best position is, given he has played fullback, centre and five eighth. Was close to man of he match on the weekend against the Warriors and at the very least has good speed and elusive skills. Could be one to watch.

I too thought he went well
was expecting a bit more tho
maybe a Tommy lee jones cameo appearance on the side line and a few dead aliens at half time
he looks good in black tho

but I all seriousness does have some skill

Pretty sure I watched him make his NYC debut for the knights when he was 16 a few years ago, if its the same kid he was a big talent back then.

He looks more a centre to me... Though prob could be a stop gap 5/8 at a pinch

Disagree with that. He's a 5/8 who just happens to be able to cover centre and fullback because of his pace and skill, much like Brandy who also covered fullback and wing (no, not comparing). He's too light to be playing centre in the NRL, but his speed would be handy in the halves. I prefer him to John.

Does he have a good enough kicking game though? It's why I see him as a Jamie Lyon type of player. Certainly should be next up if a centre or Moylan is out

He's got a good short kicking game. Can't remember him kicking long, so, don't know.
Like to see him get a chance at some stage to see if he's the real deal, or just another of those players who star at NSW cup level but can't cut it in the NRL.

I have seen the same. Hence a good centre kicking for the winger or back towards the posts. If Mansour is out this week he might get a chance or Idris in SOO is more likely

His problem there is his place in the pecking order, behind Moylan, DWZ and Moss.[

Yes he is unlikely to make his debut at fullback. I would have thought five eighth would be his best opportunity given Soward will always miss the odd game or two with injury during a season. I thought most of his time in NSW Cup with the Knights was in the number six but I could be wrong.

Yeah you are right, Kilkenny. Definately played 6 at the Knights plus some time at centre. Better at 6 though as his only weakness is front on defence. Loves running the ball and showed last week that his goal kicking is very reliable. Good kid too, will probably stay at 6 with John snapping his Achilles last night at Cessnock. Poor bugger, out for the season.
