Benny, i'm not usually one who subscribes to conspiracy theories but if he does get nailed with this one I may just change my mind. I think he has a good case and I will be surprised if he is suspended. Still, stranger things have happened and if Saints were playing Canberra in the last couple of rounds, i'd say suspend the bastard.lol.

Legend,
If Saints were playing the raiders in the last couple of rounds it would only compound your misery.
As a long term conspiracy theorist (e.g.CIA behind the Whitlam dismissal) if Smith is suspended then the powers to be will be arranging who they want to win the comp(Dragons don't figure in that scenario) and protecting Bennett.
As I have stated why isn't he fined for commenting re the ref.I mean check Folkes wallett.

Today's press reports have a story that St George will be presenting medical evidence which will show how easy it to break the eye socket, one of the softest bones in the body. Paul had a similar injury earlier this year when he recieved an accidental eye poking.
CEO Doust has expressed concern that the media reports will mean that Smith will not get a fair hearing.
The constant talk of Smith's past record is almost certain to influence the Judiciary commitee... although by rights, it should not.
Also, Walters has confirmed today that Smith apologised immediately after the incident.... this is in direct contradiction to an earlier release which said Walters couldn't remember anything apart from being treated on the sideline .. 'someone must have hit me' was the comment he was reported to have said in last Monday's press.
The medical eveidence and insistence that this was an accident gives Smithy an outside chance.
However, the real stumbling block is the Judiciary itself who are at best, a sham.

Whatever, in a few hours from now we'll find out the results.... cross them fingers and cross them toes.

Phil Gould will defend Smith tonight at the Judiciary. Smith has been oneshinning light in the media on this issue andlet's hope he can knock some sense into the judiciary

I sawKevvie say this in the news and the way it came across to me, was that he was just making light of this whole issue. Kevvie is know to be a bit of a larrakin at most times and I don't think he said anything to harm Smith's chances of defending himself at the judiciary tonight. Also, I saw some more bits in that news footage where Kevvie was playing around pretending to have lost his bearings, and stumbling etc out of his car...he was with Kerrod. I don't know if any of you saw it on the tv. Well that's my 2 cents.

Sorry, my previous post should have said Paul Green had a similar injury earlier this year... left out the surname.

Yaqona, no I didn't see the TV stuff you're talking about. Thanks for clearing that up.

My point is that the MEDIA reports things. Kevin Walters may be a great bloke and his acknowledgement that Smith apologised is good to see.

However, the newspapers always put things to print so as to cause controversy. They rarely give the readers the full picture.
I think you'll see I'm really having a go at the press, not Walters.
