I heard on SEN that Fervola's antics were covered up so as not to spoil the afl grandfinal..

Roy Masters said on The Offsiders that the Herald Sun was holding back something so as not to take attention away from the boggerball GF

wouldn't happen in League. especially if the alleged assault was against a female journo

i don't think this story was ever supposed to get out. it was only because it was reported on some obscure website that it became public

Don Demetriou probably scared the crap out of the poor lady involved. The AFL tactics seem very Don-like in many ways.

Yes and he was traded yesterday from Carlton to the Brisbane Lions.
Taming him while on the booze will be a massive task for the Brisbanites:lol:

Yeah the whole Fevola at the Brownlow thing has been totally ignored by the media.

Obviously an AFL Troll.

But your missing the point totally, yeh it got a lot of press (I live in MElbourne) but only as Oh, Brendan was drunk and got a bit rowdy.

Not he f**king sexually assualted a female member of the MURDOCH press in the toilets!!!

Can you imagine the Daily Telegraph covering that one up if it was an NRL player of ill repute (like Fevola)??

Look, there's a lot of banter between the different codes that goes on on this board, but let's get serious for a moment, binge drinking isn't an "AFL problem" or an "NRL problem", it's a major problem with Australian society in general.

If only the league-bashing media saw it that way.

And the "no dickheads" Swans apparently offered him a four-year deal.

So much for their wank wank policy.

BRONCOS were booted from a famously raucous Cancun pub for bawdy behaviour during their nine-day bender at the Mexican holiday mecca.
About a dozen Brisbane NRL players and two women were ejected from popular nightspot Senor Frog's on Thursday, forcing them to continue their afternoon binge back at their hotel.
Among those at the drinking session were prop Joel Clinton and outside backs Jharal Yow Yeh and Steve Michaels.
About six members of the group had each laid down $A44 for an all-you-can-drink special when they arrived at the pub about 1pm.
After their mates turned up about an hour later, some members of the group began undressing and leaping from the venue's deck into the lagoon below.
Staff from Senor Frog's described the scene to The Sunday Mail, saying the group had videotaped their antics.
"They stripped (to their underwear) and started jumping off the balcony," day manager Gustavo Castillo said.
He told them: "No more open bar and you need to leave and get some siesta."
Mr Castillo said the players apologised and left peacefully as directed.
Senor Frog's is popular with young single revellers and once hosted the Playboy Playmate cast of US television show The Girls Next Door.
Big names from the sporting world, including Mike Tyson and Tiger Woods, have also been there.
After the Broncos were turfed out last week, they kept drinking poolside at the Oasis Cancun, where The Sunday Mail tracked them down.
Senior players Clinton, Peter Wallace, Aaron Gorrell, Michaels and Yow Yeh were among the players seen drinking by the hotel pool with an unidentified blonde woman.
The 1744-room resort is sprawled across about 2km of Caribbean beachfront, and includes an open bar in its daily room rate.
That means alcoholic drinks are free around the clock for registered hotel guests.
About two dozen players were on the trip, but several of the club's biggest stars – including skipper Darren Lockyer, Justin Hodges and Sam Thaiday – did not attend because they are in camp with the Australian team to play in the upcoming Four Nations.
AFL-bound fullback Karmichael Hunt also declined to attend.
The players returned to Senor Frog's later Thursday night and by about 10.30pm, a heavily drunk Steve Michaels was seen staggering across the pub floor as the team's minder ushered him home.
Broncos management sent a security guard with the group to Cancun after a run of off-field indiscretions, stretching back to last year's alleged ***** scandal at a nightclub in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley.
In April this year, Michaels and teammate Kenny were fined $2000 for urinating in public, while Clinton was fined $50,000 and stood down from a match in June for taking a woman into his hotel room during a trip.
Oasis Cancun resort security logs seen by The Sunday Mail show no formal complaints linked to their rooms.
The team leave Cancun today.

Looks like News LTD are still on the hunt for rugby league scandal.

I cannot believe that Broncos article...just emailed the courier mail and let them know my thoughts.

The media has so much to answer for. What have the players done wrong, its beyond a joke. and looking at the other comments after the article, general consensus agrees.

So they send a reporter there looking for scandal, find pretty much nothing out of the ordinary yet they have to bring up past incidents. Scum of the highest order.

Interesting article in today's Wagga Daily Advertiser

Jason Ferris to face court
BY BEN HIGGINS
20/10/2009 1:00:00 AM
FORMER Gundagai rugby league captain-coach Jason Ferris has been charged by police for allegedly stealing money from the Criterion Hotel in Gundagai.

Ferris, who took the Tigers to the 2009 Group Nine grand final, announced only a week ago he would be leaving not only the club but the town but is now required to appear at Gundagai Local Court on December 7.

The Daily Advertiser understands Ferris is alleged to have stolen $7500, using the money to make several bets while working at the hotel a position he held for only one month.

Gundagai police have investigated the allegations for the past week after receiving a complaint from hotel owners, David and Julie Hindmarsh.

Yesterday, police could only say a 33-year-old man had been charged with one count each of making a false statement to obtain money, obtaining money by deception and accepting money to gamble in a prohibited way.

Since gaining a release from Gundagai, Ferris has been linked with Group Nine premier Kangaroos but it is now likely that the halfback will link up with Group 19 club Inverell Hawks.

Ferris, who played 54 games for seven NRL clubs, did not return calls last night.

Ferris leaves Gundagai in the same fashion as he entered, amid a storm of controversy, when the start of the season he was embroiled in a contract dispute between Avalon and Gundagai, allegedly agreeing to play for both clubs.
