Will we ever have a legit world governing body?

Here is what the other sports are doing.

Basketball, based in Switzerland
Boxing, Switzerland
Canoeing, Switzerland
Cycling, Switzerland
Fencing, Switzerland
Football, Switzerland
....... I think you get the idea.

I wonder if League will ever do the same and try and run as a truly independent and neutral governing body. Of course the big 3 nations can and will still have considerable influence, but not complete domination...

as for being truly independent & neutral?? i believe the roots of that are taking hold now but it maybe a while before the RLIF has the power to stand up to the ARLC/NRL & RFL and tell them to "STFU...we're in charge now "

Shall we give the rlif some time first? They've only just appointed a NH chairman, with the balance of power shifting away from the NRL/NZRL thanks to the Asia-Pacific rep voting with the NH reps.
Now the RLIF have recruited a CEO who hasn't yet commenced work with them.
The RLIF has also hinted at relocating to Ireland for tax purposes.
Things take time. They've got the money. Patience is needed.
If in 2 years nothing has changed, lets put shit on them.

Lol. The only reason they are based in Switzerland, or for the IRB in Ireland, is for financial reasons.

And to answer your question, no, not in my lifetime.
