I voted "yes but I hate the teams playing" - mostly because I'd prefer to see a real outsider/underdog there to cheer for.

As it stands, I'm cheering for the Storm just to put an end to this Panthers run... I still dislike the Storm for things such as the salary cap cheating, the wrestling & the fact they got to pick their initial squads from the remains of teams being closed in 1998-99, but that was a long time ago, and right NOW it's kinda a "lesser of two evils" thing that I really wanna see the Panthers dominance broken.

Watched them all live since about 1970, is that when live coverage started? Used to have to be a sell out previously?

Before that we used to get the newsreel type coverage a week or two later at the school fete - they’d play the game in the hall on the old movie projector.

Every Thursday (footy season) on the way to school sports/activities day I got the RLW at the newsagent across the road from the bus stop.
Then to Dulwich Hill squash courts, an Orchy after and to school for activity 2 and then off to footy in the arvo by public transport. Hoping some parents would show up and give us a lift home afterwards. Otherwise, public transport again. Different times.

Im thinking of picking up the Ann Ed Big League this week though.

One of my favourite memories was a game where speed demons slippery morris and turvey Mortimer shadowed each other all day as each made break after break only to be cut down by the other in cover. Fabulous stuff.

And in the (dreaded) 75 GF ? Lord Ted chased a kick at full pace while Ian Schubert likewise came forward from fullback at pace.
They both reached the ball at the same time, with eyes only on the ball they collided. It seemed like time paused for a second with them both occupying the same physical space.

I'll watch channel nine's wonderful lead up (hopefully Gus' last word is back). Then switch off until the half time show.
Then switch over to sbs to watch nazi mega structures.
That's yabby fishing in the shallow end, even for you ol' mate.
At 6:30pm this aficionado will be in the men's shed sitting next to a lifesize cutout of James Maloney with a 10 written on his back, with my hand in the lolly jar in anticipation of ol'mate Bellamy giving Cleary an almighty tuppeny f**k.
Too easy.
