So, the Gold Coast consortim has released a few details, most notably that the team will play in orange and turquoise and be known as the Dolphins.

So much for Willow's repeated inference that a Gold Coast team would be called Sharks, and wear Black, White and Blue...

The dolphin is a good choice of mascot I guess but the colours are a bit bland

The Miami Dolphins also have coral (read pink) in their colours too. A good idea not to include that I say.

Still, more footy teams is a good thing. Especially in the GC and CC area.

Any clues on the new NZ franchise ??

Can't agree on the Bears issue.
They were ripped off big time.
If the Sharks had have been in the situation the Bears were forced into, I would hate for other supporters to feel like that of the Sharks cause.
The bears did the right thing & relocated before any other team.
If anybody remembers the weather that year it was cataclysmic, putting the Stadium behind schedule over a year. So they went broke building it with little assistance, went broker not being able to use it & then went even broker during the ARL/ super league war in terms of player payments.
They were not invited to SL if I remember correctly like the sharks were.
At least they had a crack at re-locating to a growing league area & would have it sown up by now if the league had have done the right thing and exterminated Manly.
