On a reply to a post of mine a few months ago about Dragon team lists through the years you mentioned that you were getting close to finishing a website including this history. Just wondering how it's progressing? Look forward to any new sites, especially one that is that comprehensive.

I haven't forgotten that post (months ago on Grandstand I recall) and intended on going back to tell you when it was done. It's been a big project but it's almost finished.
I have set aside a launch date of Friday November 16th and I'm pretty confident that I'll meet the self imposed deadline.

The URL can will be advertised here in the Dragons section on the day, Friday week!
Initially, I'll be inviting corrections but more about that later.

How far are you intending on going back on the Dragons history?
Is it a write-up (essay form), or is it a page which shows their stats as far as wins, losses and so forth?
Can you give us a few more details as to what else will be on their?
Will you start a new thread to advertise/inform the rest of us, or how exactly will we know of its launch?


Mate, if there's one area that I need to desperately polish my Dragons skills on, then it's their glorious and unrivaled history. So I also look forward to your work.

Willow, not sure as to how you plan to have the site and if it is just going to be in essay form than disregard this offer.

If you plan to have a similar site to that of your Saints on TV with lots of pictures and many megabytes of info, I would be willing to host some ofthe site for free, with no ads!!

I can offer you maybe 8 or 9 mb at the moment, but if you are hosting the rest of the site elsewhere it can work out good

Get yourself a redirector like http://www.has.it/home.phpand you can just point it to your site, when you want to view pages on my hosting you just redirect the link to my hosting address!

Do you understand what I mean?

In the end an Ad free website with no popups is the best way to keep your visitors comming back.

To answer your questions.

It starts with anecdotes from 1907 -1908 and has a bit of info about the 3rd grade team and the attempts by the club to get into 1st grade - which happened in 1921.

I call it 'scrap book' form...lol. Each year has a one or more highlights which are set out like news items with pictures. I tried to make it like reading a newspaper... so I guess it's in essay form. However, there is a RL ladder in each year with stats and there will be a bald stats section with records etc.
The site is enormous. To combat with the complexities, I have made it fairly interactive where you can choose to look at certain pictures and and text by way of click-on pop up windows. There's amany thumb nails if the viewer wants more detail. The site also has a number of 'history spot' links where you can see what was also in the news on the day.. the things that people were talking about 'way back then'.. It's more than a RL history site.

Yes, I'll advertise here in the Dragons section which I manage. I also hope to advertise at another forum but I haven't checked with the manager there yet. You'll see it. Keep in mind that initially, I will be asking for corrections.

Thanks for your offer Macca. I have a good amount of space and the site will be part of Saints On TV. The server is vertially uncapped... sort of like Cronulla's accoutancy system.. . Still, I had a look at the link you put up and it's impressive. I'll keep it in mind if things change

As for the type of site it will be, see my response to Aaron.
