A challenge for all the folk on this forum to help take our minds off the wall to wall bad news lately: Try to name one benefit the involvement of WIN Corporation has brought to our club since their buy in.
They recently closed down regional broadcasting which is their core business so no chance they will save a footy team when it becomes financially unviable.Since they own half of the JV and have divergent investments, we will be much more likely to have the capacity to weather the current financial uncertainty than if we were only supported by a leagues club.
They did that in response to the long term viability of regional television. They recently closed down regional broadcasting which is their core business so no chance they will save a footy team when it becomes financially unviable.
Wrong there boomer. They recently closed down regional broadcasting which is their core business so no chance they will save a footy team when it becomes financially unviable.
The corporation started with the Wollongong Illawarra NSW TV station, or WIN TV for short. How the hell did they come up with the name WIN Corp! FMD
It’s enabled the Illawarra half of the JV to have a louder voice against the St George old boys who’ve been stuck in the 70s & have been running the poor St George arm of things into the ground.A challenge for all the folk on this forum to help take our minds off the wall to wall bad news lately: Try to name one benefit the involvement of WIN Corporation has brought to our club since their buy in.
The NRL trying to play on citing players pays etc etc etc looking for / demanding government subsidies etc etc etc indicates that the game is not very viable and cannot withstand unforeseen pressure and will struggle to survive. They did that in response to the long term viability of regional television.
If the NRL has a long term future it’s a different scenario.
Which they should. If St George can’t keep up their half of the deal, WIN aren’t a charity to bail them out.Don't expect the Gordon's to save the club with their hard earned $$$ they will just let it liquidate if push comes to shove.
The NRL is not the club. And the NRL is not rugby league. The NRL trying to play on citing players pays etc etc etc looking for / demanding government subsidies etc etc etc indicates that the game is not very viable and cannot withstand unforeseen pressure and will struggle to survive.
They already have. Several times. They’ve done it with caveats, but that’s just good business sense.Don't expect the Gordon's to save the club with their hard earned $$$ they will just let it liquidate if push comes to shove.
You’re going to get uglyThis thread is going to get ugly.
Well given that info & that they now own 50% of the Dragons JV.....I’ll refer to them as WIND ( Wollongong Illawarra NSW Dragons )The corporation started with the Wollongong Illawarra NSW TV station, or WIN TV for short.
Given that Corp is short for corporation, I’ll let you join the dots.
