CRAIG Wing has quit the NRL to play Japanese rugby union

The South Sydney star has had money disputes with the Rabbitohs over third party agreements.
There were also suggestions Wing was sounded by the Sydney Roosters - his former club - and Parramatta.
But Wing has decided to leave rugby league for Japanese rugby union - details of his club will be announced this afternoon.
Cronulla's Fraser Anderson quit the NRL earlier this year to sign with Japanese rugby union

Japanese people don't even know they've got rugby union.

Danny Weidler will be happy.

Yeah he will be forgotten as soon as he leaves. Whatever happened to sportsman offering loyalty to the game that made them a star in the first place. Wing may make more money short term but at the same time he is practically throwing away the oppurtunity to set himself up with a long term rugby league career outside the actual game.

The only thing that pisses me off about these blokes is that we let them come back.

I don't begrudge anyone the opportunity to get more money but FFS close the door after they leave so they can come back to permanent anonymity.

Never forget Clinton Schifcofske (who?) say to Brandy and Gibbs on 2UE at the end of the interview "Keep in touch". This is when he was @ the Reds

Yeah sure Clinton..

"Keep in touch" and "You run a great show guys, keep up the good work". He said that at the end of every interview.

He should've said "and I'll never touch roids again, bye"

Wing has the personality of a sweaty sock so a post-career media career in the game was probably not on.

He speaks ok and looks good, but like Ricko, has nothing of interest to say.

Wing is an interesting character. Always been a bit two-faced. When Souths were in threat of being kicked out he claimed he was going to join rugby as he could never play for another club, then when he signed with the Roosters he claimed he would return to Souths as soon as they were re-admitted, then when he eventually did rejoin Souths he claimed it was his lifelong dream and felt he was returning home, and yeah now he's going to Japan...

He was a massive suck to the radio guys. Whenever union guys are interviewed on the radio then i switch off...same with AFL goons

Never really looked content at Souths.

Good luck to him. He was one of the most devastating players in that premiership winning Roosters team.

He is looking after himself and his wallet first, which is totally understandable. He has been a good player.

But he won't be missed, he will have plenty to fill the void.
