1992, Steelers vs Manly at Brookvale oval

Steelers down in the final minutes needing a try to cement their place in their first ever final series. Manly spread the ball wide, Wishart intercepts to score an almost length of the field try. Brillant.
Can remember him doing something similar against the knights at steeler stadium a couple of years later, took the intercept 10m out from his own line in the NW corner and scored the winning try.

Rod Wishart was the Illawarra steelers during the 90's. Every kid in Wollongong wanted to be him and he was a top bloke to boot.

In rod we trust!

Played 20 or so Origins didn't he? Probably the most capped NSW winger in Origin history.

And lets not forget the other great Rod who played for the Steelers, the great rampaging Rod Henniker-twice voted biggest arse in rugby league!

He certainly achieved a lot in his time with the Steelers. First picked for NSW and Australia on the wing. Prolific tryscorer. Freakish goalkicker.

Can't say he's the greatest but he's certainly achieved a lot to be up there with the greats of the club!

Without doubt the greatest STI player of his era.

How good was the Steelers emblem. Bring it back, replace that god awful dragons log.

Another thing, how good was there jersey, another thing St George should consider taking on.

Definitely for NSW, but not for Australia, having Carne/Hancock on the wings for much of the 90s.
