Crocker only got 1 week, and Witt got 1 + 1 carry over. Sorry folks but I think he deserved it.

Hmmm compared to other suspensions it is harsh IMHO, as mentioned, not even a penalty for the incident :?
Obviously the Jokediciary were pissed off about actually having to do some work, instead of the usual case of everyone taking early pleas :(

I really think Feliti Mateo will play 5/8 this week - he's been 18th man the last couple and wasn't named in the squad this week... is he named in the lower grades?

Worst case scenario: Wagon to 5/8, Muckertt to second row and Hopkins back to lock.... if that happens I have a bad feeling about the game...

i am no big fan of Wagon at 5/8 as a long term strategy, but i think that he is a fairly safe option, at least defensively. This is a game we MUST win to be any chance for the rest of the season, so for mine, with Witt out, I don't think it would be the end of the world for Wags to play at #6 for just this week. Let Dykes and Morris run the attack.

I have a feeling Smith will leave Wagon at lock. Why, because I don't think he'll want to change the overall structure of our side too much given that we defended pretty well against the Knights. I think the replacement will be a straight swap for Witt, probably Thorman because I think Smith will be very hesitant to throw another rookie in. Muckert will be an emergency in case Pearson pulls out at the last minute with that never ending back injury of his again. Thorman will probably be asked to play a similar role to what Witt played for us against the Knights, basically let Dykes run the plays and just play a supporting role and keep the errors to a minimum. Thorman will probably take over the goalkicking duties as well. Makes sense to me.

Now that I've typed all that Smith will probably pick Webster at 5/8th

as if we has a chance in hell of wining should have taken the early plea and then he would have copped only 1 game ban instead of 2.

Hodges and Crocker got 2 weeks.

Always happens at the Roosters, whats with the judicary. Morley a few weeks ago knocked out Kimmorley and got almost the same sentence. He's got a poor record, just like the other Roosters.

This is Witt's first high tackle, and gets 2 weeks, we always cop it here at Parramatta, its a joke an absolute joke. :x

Jim Hall, you're a stupid d!khead.

I think Jim Hall is long gone.....Greg McCallum does a bit of what he used to (look at the video and choose who to charge).

But I agree the Roosters seem to cop quite light treatement.

Witty was not charged with a high tackle - it was a spear tackle (dangerous throw)......and I agree with mickdo that he deserved a week for it - the 2nd week is all about carry over points....I don't think they should have contested Witty's charge because he was never gonna get off and while he may just get the same 2 week suspension, he now has more carry over points for next time.

This brings me to my rant....Carry Over Points...I believe there is a big problem with carry over points - many players push the limits of getting charged or even go up to the judiciary and get preferential treatment and get off or get off lightly - hence they never end up with carry over points - examples Gordan Tallis, Andrew Jones, Trent Barrett.....these guys have committed the crimes in the past but always get off and NEVER end up with carry over points.....unfortunately our guys rarely get a break from the judiciary and as such end up with suspensions and carry over points.

I am trying to work out what your argument is here? I can appreciate that you might be trying to say that our blokes get a raw deal at the judiciary and if that is your point, then fair enough, but i don't see how that has anything to do with the logic or theory behind carry over points?

My point is that acruing carry over points (and also having a track record) will come back and bite u one day....ie Witty gets 2 weeks instead of 1.

How often do people get charged and take the early plea and NOT get even a week off....yet others getthe same charge and get a week cos they have carry over points to add to the current charge.

People who get off altogether or get lenient treatment DO NOT acrue carry over points or a bad record and thus later when something happens, the sissue is not compounded by adding in carry over points.

ok fair enough - so what you are saying is that the carry over points concept, compound our problem of harsh treatment at the judiciary. Well, yeah, i agree. Witt is getting shafted and its made all the worse by the fact that he had 93 carry over points from the last time he got shafted...

but i thought carry over points from last year did not apply anymore as they were dropped when the new system came into play so as to not cause any confusion
