Everyone has given a rap to our forwards, and deservedly so, but I think Witty deserves a mention, after last night.

Finally, this person who masquerades as our coach week after week, has played Witty in his correct position, after 17 rounds.

Witty set up our vistory with a very good kicking game, and Burty did the rest.

He played well at halfback last year, but BS decides to drop him to premmy leage and play him at 5/8.

WHY ? ?

Hopefully now he is played in his correct positionfor the rest of the year, where he will flourish.

I agree, although he wasn't a stand out it was a good start for him as this is only the second time he has played Halfback in First grade all year and most of the year it seemed that wanted him at 5/8th!!!!! He was playing well when he FINALLY got half back in P/L and then they moved him to 5/8th in firsts for his first game.

I think everyone should give the kid a break, he is 20 and hasn't been given a fair go in his preferred position this year, Smithy should stick with him there and we will all see him improve!!!!!

He was obviously doing something right in the half back role last night because we convincingly beat the competition front runners!!!!!

The whole team did great and it will be a HUGE confidence boost for them!!!!!!

Witt still has a lot of work to do on pressuring the opposition on the 5th tackle. We only mounted pressure from his bombs directed to Hegarty and other than the bomb Witt had no other kicks in his arsenal. We also didnt get many back to back sets. Buut he is improving but ity must b siad that his running to the line isnt as dangerous as it was last year. Id love gto see him suceed played side an accustomed 5/8 in Dykes.

Witty basically won us the the game with those bombs. His best performance in a long time, good effort mate.

i'd still like to see mick back himself and run the ball more often, but i couldn't be happier he had a good game last night, against the team he debuted against last year. He needed a strong performance to get a few demons off his back.... WELL DONE DARLIN"!!!

He had a good kicking game, but never seemed to have anyone running off him when he went to the line, and was almost always picked off in that situation. I'd love to see a few more decoy runners around the rucks...

Witty still has alot of work to do on his game but he's coming along ok at the moment. Should improve a little with each game and with more confidence as well.

I gave him a pizzling 2 weeks ago. I was wrong. Lets give the kid a chance. But he has a lot to learn. I remember Sherwin was ordinary when he first started and look at him now.

he will continue to develop if he is left at half back, and not moved to 5/8 again

lets just hope that BS leaves him at halfback

Leave him at half I believe he shined last night :D

The night wouldve been even better for me if he'd hit Fitzgibbon ... oh well he showed what he's capable of with more to come. Smithy was right to give him a long contract :)

Know what I like most about this kid?

His Heart.

He's got plenty of ticker this kid and he's very determined. He's got alot to learn still but I'm excited to see how he develops further for the rest of the season.
