WK 2 Game Suspension - Ref Collision

Interesting that Ison was dropped and maybe held back for next week. Fitz doesn’t normally debut anywhere but pointsbet. We shall see.

Different situation when someone has to come in by necessity vs a winger or a benchie making their debut.

Yeah agree that we should have challenged especially since the ref changed lines. If the ref was a player he would've been penalised for being an escort. Will say that Will didn't appear to check on the ref after the incident. Looked more pissed off that he missed the opportunity to back up Iro. Maybe if hed checked on the ref after the event the charge may not have gone ahead? But then again any contact with the ref is scrutinized heavily these days.
Going off Annesley's comments it seems very very unlikely he would have gotten off.

If you list to the Dino interview he mentions the club spent all weekend discussing the situation so they would have made the decision not lightly and based on as much info as they could, which would be alot more than what we have.

It sucks, shouldn't have been suspended but fighting it was the wrong play. We need Kennedy back for Souths.

Besides given Kennedy has generally been injured the back end of the season the last few years, maybe that extra rest is good for his body ?

We were never going to win a challenge.
Annesley's comment of "it was an accident, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable" pretty much tells you all you need to know.

I will be interesting to see come finals if it's a Cleary or Grant that collide with ref.

Sounds like Ison is making his debut this week. Didn’t play NSW Cup either last weekend. Sorry if already posted I’ve been MIA during the bye round.

Big ref collision late in the storm and south’s game tonight. 2 or 3 players ran into the ref. Should all get a week I expect.

I was gonna say the same, looked like 2 Souths players plus Warbrick all contacted ref….. ban em all ‘there’s no excuse to contact the ref’

Way worse than WK's. Lets see how the Annesley report goes

It's not as forceful, but not by much.
But yes, a worse incident IMHO.
Will was watching Iro and the Gee stepped into his path.
Warbrick just makes a beeline for Home Team Toddy and rams into him.

It'll be interesting to see the spin the MRC/Annesley put on it to justify a lighter sanction (which I expect).

And you can bet that no one at the press conference will question it either. They've probably all forgotten about the other incidents, not sure their memories go back that far.

Yep.
Nothing to see here...

Doesn't seem to have been charged.

What a surprise.
Are you serious? I thought it was a blanket zero tolerance on ref collision, and that is why we did not challenge - because there was no chance of getting out of it?

It also seems that we are the only team that is ever pinged for that stupid disruptor rule

And it's always Will with the disruptor as well even though he is actually going for the ball.

It’s why we needed to fight it.

Make it high profile enough to force the issue.

But we rolled over. They don’t charge certain teams because those teams would challenge at the judiciary and the NRL can’t be f**ked going there (just like a cop hates going to court and would rather drop charges or under charge to get a quick plea than waste a day at court!!))
