WM 21: Midcard shambles

We are less then two months away from the biggest show of the year and I have to say that I'm very disappointed with some of the build up for the matches or lack thereof.

So far I think:

Batista V HHH, Cena V JBL and HBK V Angle are pretty much locked in as the top3 main events on the show.

HHH V Batista - Great build up that stretches to last year. This is make or break for Dave. They have done the opposite to Randy and given him the slow build and it seems to be working. I'm still waiting fro him to snap and turn on his so called mentor.

JBL V Cena - Cena will win against Angle at NWO. Build up has been pretty poor so far but JBL V Cena is a fresh match up that we havn't seen yet.

HBK V Angle - This fued had the potential to be one for the ages but at the moment I think they are really dropping the ball. This all started last year at Survivor Series with a random comment that Angle made. It took them until RR to continue the fued and the fact that they are on different shows doesnt do much for the build up.

Apart from that what do we have? Benjamin is the IC champ but is floating around the midcard not really doing anything. Edge has had is shot at the champ but lost. Randy is on a steady decline and the booking committee has resorted to him playing the lover not fighter with Satcy. Benoit and Jericho are being under-utilised especially Jericho. christian had a promising thing going with Randy but there match happened too soon.

On Smackdown Eddie, Rey and Booker T are mix andmatching tag teams. The cruiserweights are a mere side show act. Luther Reigns had a good think going with Taker but he is facing off against him at NWO so I dont think the fued will stretch past that PPV.

Last year we had Benoit V HHH, Angle V Eddie, Evolution V Rock n Sock, Lesnar V Goldberg, Jericho V Christian all with good to great build up and back story to it. This year....well it's been pretty poor.

Benjamin v Hussein would be a goer, they have enough time to build this up, having Hussein with the IC belt, would totally be different, and would generate huge heat, Benjamin doesnt get me excited watching his matches very non plus there

I reckon you'll be able to add Randy Orton vs. Undertaker to the big matches list. If they go through with it, it'll be the ultimate challenge for the "legend killer" with Undertaker being 11-0 at Wrestlemania.

would be a good match, but Randy Orton being the "Legend Killer" sucks balls now because he is a face....maybe that will change [-o<

I think both men will go into the match as faces, but Undertaker will get all the pops etc, so Orton starts to play the heel role during the match.

As we reported here previously, following events which took place at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view last month, WWE management had planned on having a tag-team match at WrestleMania 21 between Kane & Undertaker vs. Snitsky and Heidenreich.

However, The Undertaker was not happy with the plans, so heconfronted management within WWE about it.

Undertaker got his way and the WrestleMania plans have now been changed to; Undertaker facing Randy Orton in a “Legend vs. Legend Killer” match, and a triple threat match taking place between Kane, Snitsky and the returning Matt Hardy.

It’s likely that Orton will defeat Undertaker and end his ‘WrestleMania winning streak’ that has gone on for many years.
