Wolfmother split up

Australian award winning rock band Wolfmother has broken up, citing long-standing personal and musical differences.
Bass/keyboard player Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett have resigned from the band, effective immediately, leaving just singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale.
According to a statement on the band's website, Stockdale plans to find other musicians before making a new Wolfmother album.
"Wolfmother toured the world virtually non-stop through 2006 and early 2007 on the back of their acclaimed self titled debut album," the statement said.
"Longstanding frictions within the group then led them to take an extended break during the second half of 2007 to consider their future."
The final straw came at the weekend where Wolfmother headlined last Sunday at the Splendour In The Grass Festival in Byron Bay.
"Following that show Chris Ross decided to announce that he was leaving the band due to irreconcilable personal and musical differences," the statement said.
"Myles Heskett has also decided to leave the band rather than continuing as part of a changed lineup.
"The pair has been working together on songs for some time and they plan to focus their energies on that new project in the future."
Stockdale, Heskett and Ross will make no public statements.
"They simply ask all Wolfmother fans to please understand that in spite of their best efforts over a long period of time, they just could not find a harmonious way to work together and that has led to the decisions announced today," the statement said.
Wolfmother's self-titled debut album sold more than 1.3 million copies and received multiple ARIA Awards and as well as a prestigious American Grammy Award.

yeah they didn't try to hide their influence's.
They probably weren't the greatest muso's ...but I didn't mind the album they put out.
It was a nice change/revisit from all that seppo my chemical romance type stuff.
The JJJ gig they did was a highlight for me.
although...
I also saw them at the Horden Pav which kind of exposed the limits of a 3 piece.

their show at the Horden Pav was amazing, theyre a good live band when they want to be. Like carch said, they didn't hide their influences, but it was good hearing that type of sound again.

I really liked their first album. One of the best albums I'd heard since the turn of the century.

sarcasm is the lowest form of wit....

no he actually believes it, Fish will probably tell you also that Tim Rogers is also a better guitarist then Eddie Van Halen:lol:

You am I fans are like AFL fans, denial, they actually think the rest of the world gives about them, and that if a person in Vietnam is spotted wearing a You am I T-shirt then it's considered a You am I strong hold:lol:

Wolfmother first album probably sold more copies then the whole You am I's career.

Can't polish a turd, yet You am I fans get close.

I am going to go and see You am I again this lifetime.

You can stay in your bedroom and bat off to the chicks on rat video's.
those chicks would be about 60 by now.

Eddie Van Halen wishes he could right a melody and have a turn of phrase half as good as Timothy Adrian Rogers

A shame to hear, although it just looks like they'll be replaced and still be around. Hopefully this doesn't take huge effect in their music, it's been good to see this band go around well.
