Two WC qualifiers played on Saturday. Italy 6 Netherlands 56, Wales 28 Ireland 10.

First of these was a play-off. Means Netherlands join Wales and Ireland in Group A.

I saw the Dutch game on Livestream. Only their second outing. The other was a similarly impressive win against Greece. They've come from nowhere to now look the continental Euro nation most likely to challenge the French. They're great to watch. Lots of ball movement and offloads. The depth in their attacking lines is a throwback to the 5m offside era.

Word of caution. No certainty the 2026 Women's RLWC will actually happen.
