WONDERLAND

Its gone for good     . I miss it already. I've been there so much.We used to have Wonderpasses and go every fortnight from when I was born till when I was 'round 8 . Then we went once a year. The other week I went for the last time with my friends. its so painful knowing you'll never go again to place you've spent and enjoied yourself at so much. It's just sunk in I'll never ride Demon, Space Probe and Bush Beasty again. Also to a Lesser extent the Pirate Ship.

So anyway, just wondering for those that have been there what is ya favourite ride?

It's hard for me to say

Bush Beasty-I love this ride, probably the best roller coaster which does not go upside down you'll ever find. The rockiness is brilliant and exhilerating. It makes its so great. Also going round the bends at such a high speed is great. This will be the ride I miss the most.

Space Probe-Great Ride, only prob is it is so damn short but the speed of the fall is brilliant.

Pirate Ship-I only started going on it last time and I went on it about 5 times and I loved it. Hanging upside down is brilliant and the fear of falling is huger for me since I'm so skinny.

BEST THE BEST FOR ME IS-

Demon-Brilliant, absolutely stunning, Going backwards though the loops is brilliant. Sitting at the bach is the best and the start is great. Probably the best ride there.

I also ;lover the Tassie Devil and would be up there for best ride.

What about you?

Man i had some great times at Australia's Wonderland, when we where younger me & my mates would all go with our girlfriends & we'd have a ball!!

I use to love the Snowy river ride when the water shoots are & get's everyone soaked....and the slippery slides at the pool was great also.

There building a small business park in it's place :? Closed cos it was no longer financially viable. IE they got a better offer from the developers of the small business park,

Dodgem Cars were tops for mine

still a treasured memory that on my cousins birthday we (me, sister and 3 cousins) went there on a school day in the wet, we counted 26 people there besides us. We rode the dodgems for 2 hours straight going every which way, no stopping untill someone came (which was around the 2 hour mark), great fun and we all felt pretty sore but it was the funnest thing ive ever done, many alliences were made and broken in the 2 hours

The Bush Beast always felt like it was going to collapse at any moment... it was completely made out of wood, and it shook and rattled in certain places.

Space Probe was also tops!

The last time I went was in 2002... I will miss it in a way I guess.

Another victory for the property developers and the high public liability insurence premiums.

Don't you just love the white shoe brigade

I've never been to Wonderland, what's it like compared to Dreamworld? I last went to Dreamworld for a physics excursion in Year 12 four years ago. I wanna go to Seaworld again sometime, haven't been since I was five. :(

This is my theory

The reason it gone is it used to be great for little kids till about 1997 when it sold to new management. At this point they opened the park on School days, and they lost emense $$$ due to hardly anyone being able to come in. It gradually died, first with children's charaters being sacked ie. before 1997 Wonderland had the whole Flinstones and other characters theme. People dressed up as that walked around. They went, then some of the rides did too, mainly the childrens ones. Prices went up because they needed money. Thus meaning attendences were down with the only people that'd come in on school days were either adults or small children-due to the small children rides going, and higher prices, less came in. It went down the drain. They needed money and did't have it. World events didn't help, but it was mainly their own fault. Public Liability and Luna Park re-opening were likely the final nails in the coffon.

Simple, they got greedy and thats the reason the park closed down, they should never have opened on school-days.

I liked the Demon and the Pirate Ship best.

Space Probe was lame. There is a similar ride on top of the Stratosphere building in Las Vegas. It hits 4G. Its the tallest ride in the world. Think centrepoint tower with a space probe type ride on the top. Very scarey!
Stratosphere also had a rollercoaster up there too.
