what would yours look like?
And who is the world's best player?
Mine would look something like this;
1Buffon
2 Carlos
3 nesta
4 Samuel
5 Thuram

7 Zidane
8 Vieria
9 Figo

l9 Raul
10 Ronaldo
11 Henry

Play flat back four, with carlos aqnd thuram pushing forward.
have vieria holding the ball in the midfield.
Then allow figo and Zidane to create with raul dropping deep to allow ronaldo and henry to get the goals.

As for the best player, Zidane.

Mine would be: (4-3-3)

Buffon;

Thuram, Nesta, Maldini, R.Carlos;

Emerson, Zidane, Nedved;

Van Nistelrooy, Totti, Vieri;

Best player: Probably Zidane, but if Totti steps up on an international level, then he will take the mantle.

My world eleven (3-4-3):

Buffon

Nesta, Ferdinand, Thuram

Beckham, Zidane, Viera, Kewell

Henry, Raul, Vieri

Ferdinand can consider himself lucky to be in my world eleven but when he's not injured, he's one of the best in the world. Raul can consider himself equally as lucky slotting in just ahead of Van Nistelrooy and Inzaghi for mine, whilst I still maintain that Harry Kewell is currently the most talented 'attacking' player in the world. As for best all-round player however, I'm going to settle for equal honours to be shared by Henry and Zidane. (team subject to change pending different formations)

Cheers.

I must admit, Inzaghi's mention was heavily biased upon Euro 2004 qualifiers. Hell I was even ready to note Adrian Mutu who's statistically fielding the strongest strike rate internationally at the moment.

I'm just not a fan of 'reputation players'. That doesn't go for just football but all sports for mine. For example Shane Heals inclusion in the Australian Boomers squad despite his retirement from the game? Disgusted! :?

I'll admit he has an eye for goal. but he doesnt have much skill. He cannot dribble, cannot create, and all his goals are easy tap ins. I dont know how he is rated.

Apparently it matters becuase he does'nt play for Roma :roll:

What does this have to do anything??

Inzaghi's goals are nearly all tap-ins (although recently he has impressed me). Which club he plays for has nothing to do with it. In fact i never mentioned his club.

Yes a tap in is a goal. I never said it wasnt. I just dont rate him as a top class striker. Van Nistelrooy, Vieri, Henry, Shevchenko, Trezeguet, Del Piero, Totti etc. etc. can also create goals as well as score them. Inzaghi cannot.

Yes he is very effective in the role that he plays, but IMO he doesnt posses half the skill or quality of the players i mentioned above.

Buffon

Thuram-Nesta-Maldini-Ferninand-R.Carlos

Beckham-Zidane-Nedved

Van Nistlerooy-Ronaldo

Subs

Toldo
Chivu
Samuel
Viera
Totti
Mutu
Shevchnko

That is all the players I can think of ATM to be on the subs bench.
Becks although I think he is a tad over-rated, makes it because he is currantly in fine form with Real Madrid.
