souths. and their fans..What's not to like?
:?Your right that would be geniused.
What?
A direct quote to emphasise just how stupid the post i was replying to was.
Or some kind of grammar point?
Discussions are boring when someone doesn't say anything.
Does anyone want to see a comp where the champions from smaller leagues play against teams from 'bigger' leagues?
Your right that would be geniused.
Lucky for the RL we have let the idiots at Uefa do something instead. As if anyone would ever care about that!
Send the best Pommy Soccer teams over to play our best and you'd probably fill the MCG . . . at least on one weekend a year
Disagreeing with a point of view does not make it "stupid". Do you honestly think a rugby league " champions league" is conceivable?
Spanish champions versus south Sydney? French champions versus Wire? (If and when wire win a title).
Nice idea, if rugby league was football
Yeah but you are talking about soccer teams that are known all over the world, I mean I know a lot of the top soccer teams and I hate the sport. That is not the case with the NRL teams, only certain teams have a huge following over seas or are just well known brands.
Also another way to look at it, hypothetically Man City is dominating the world of soccer in the UK, Man United is going ok, nothing spectacular, and not badly, which team honestly puts more bums on seats in Australia? sometimes it's not about sending the best, it's about sending the biggest.

Reports that the WCS matches attracted similar TV ratings to the Super Leauge Grand Final, and a highlights show got a nationwide FTA broadcast (a big deal over here) and apparently attracted over 1 million viewers.
Holding the point of view that holding a comp where the champions or top clubs of one country, plays the champions or top clubs of another is 'geniused', is stupid. It happens all the time in lots of sports.
Spanish champs vs south Sydney? Doesn't deserve a comment.
But...
A top French club vs Wire?
Add a top nz team vs a top Aus team,
With two Aus team vs England team matches,
Winners into a semi followed by a final.
I'd say that was conceivable.
Good point. Champions play champions in some other sports. They also don't in others. Having a load of the best darts players playing in a league works. We should probably do the same with crown green bowls or curling. That'd definitely work, because it works in Darts. geniused. Fanciful, ridiculous. Whatever term you want to use. Its an idea that wouldn't last five minutes in rugby league.
Again, nice idea, if it were in any way a level playing field, like in football. But aussie clubs have over double the financial resources than superleague and superleague resources dwarf those of developing nations.
I'd sooner see a British based NRL club with the same salary cap
So what you are saying is an idea about having a collection of teams playing in a league wouldn't last 5 mins in rugby league? Comps only work if every team is the same? And instead of UK teams playing NRL teams once a year you would rather we destroy the SL comp by having an all star team that go to the other side of the world for half a season?
Awesome.
Oh and football level?!
I can't even be bothered anymore, you have taken the fun out of this thread by being as intelligent as a brush.
