Do you think Soni Luke has earned an opportunity to perhaps be part of our 17?
Personally, yeah I do, but I'm not going to have a go at people who may think he hasn't.

If you want to debate it, go nuts, but the whole "you're just death riding him" shit just negates any debate

Round 1. He will be in the 17. Has anyone said he won't be? Whether he is still there as the season goes on is the question people rightfully have

Bingo, It is the off season perfect time to debate stuff like this.
The discussion re Dolphins in General thread is perfect example of a good forum debate

Just asked for your opinion of him as a footy player, whether you think he is capable of fulfilling a job as part of our top 17. Nothing more nothing less?

To me it looks like our players are struggling to get themselves up for the World Cup. Weve had a long long season in all grades (that only finished a few weeks ago). They can be excused for taking their foot off the pedal a little. Soni will be fine once he returns to Aus, has a break and starts pre seaseon with our coaches and systems.

The kid was MOM in our NSW Cup and against the QLD Cup GF winners what more than he do to satisfy you and others that he may be Worthy of a shot. If we are going to have @ two dummy half rotation in 2023 he looks a gem to me against a tired defence for 10-15 minutes either side of HT. He is capable of being so dangerous either with his running game or short kicking game.
Yeah he's earned a shot but mentioning the battle of who didn't hit the piss the hardest the week before isn't a strong selling point.

He was pretty awful for Tonga this morning

Completely agree.

If we are going to use World Cup form as a guide to how people will perform next year, the best pieces of business the Panthers did was moving on Kikau and Api; they were awful for Fiji the other night.

Difference is this is the highest level Luke has played. If he's not up for this then we have issues

Isn’t that the same argument people level at Nathan and SOO?
No that's a level above NRL. ( Nathan's game 2 last year was the best ever performance from a NSW 7 not named Johns by the way)

The option Luke took which somehow won the game this morning was awful. He blew the game by going down the blindside, was a fluke they somehow scored on the other side of the field.

Spark isn't the issue. Perfect example is for Tonga's 2nd try Kolomontangi had to reach for the ball, He goes through times when he loses concentration and the pass is not where it should be. Hopefully he gets some time with Wallace to fix that

There’s not a hooker in the game whose passes are perfect every game even Api threw a number of bad ones throughout the finals.

Exactly. People are placing way to much value in these performances. We have 5 or 6 Samoan guys who aren’t upto it by this logic. This is highest level leniu ever played and he was terrible.

It appears to me at least once two 2 days (or so) either you or Smug have a whinge and whine about the following Luke, Api leaving or Kenny playing hooker.

It's obvious that you and smug if not death riding him, nit picking.

So I've ended up complaining about others complaining. It's come to that......

Personally I like to wait and see what an NRL pre-season and some games add before sticking the boot in.
Same two that spent a long time telling us we needed a better fullback...

and the same two that were convinced that Penith couldn't possibly win another premiership without Burton playing at centre. Didn't rate Tago from what they saw when he played reggies.

Like some others have mentioned. I'll wait and see what Luke and Kenny bring to the table in 2023 before condeming either of them
