The NBA is a best of 7 finals series from memory same as Baseball.

the thing there is

They play a game a day
They play well over 100 games a year compared to 12 so their needs to be more than 1 game to settle it fairly
Its not in one set location, they both get home games
they get their 7 games over in a week and a half not 3 months.

I voted don't know cuz while I think teh idea has some merit, it's a case of what other sport's world cups have best of 3 Finals. I can't think of any
