So it seems a zombie tsunami overtakes the city, while Brad Pitt has to save his daughter.

The CGI zombies look terrible.

What an abomination.

I was really looking forward to this after reading the books, and instead of producing something interesting and different they have made an american version of 28 days/weeks later sort of deal.

I'm of the opposite school of thought. Loved the book, but knew it'd never work in a direct adaptation due to the fragmented nature of the storyline.

I think the idea of a sea of zombies is pretty interesting. Definitely a different visual to the usual shambling horde or running randoms to see them piling up like that.

This will be the Phantom Menace of zombie movies. All the special effects in the world won't cover up the shabby story line and annoying characters

Its a damn shame

By the look of it I was hoping the story line and characters would cover up the shabby special effects.

It's understandable if they can't make it like the book, but you bet it will have based off the book in the credits. A movie like this could be alright, but why call it World War Z if it has nothing to do with it?

So don't do it then, or do it in a format where it could work like they did with Game of Thrones.

Don't just try and exploit a name that is known with fans of the genre.
